Thanks to the more than 200 Hurtado Scholars Program supporters who joined us last night for the annual "The Fire That Kindles Other Fires" celebration!
Since its inception in 2012, the Hurtado Scholars Program has served 157 young men and their families.

Kim Brown, a Rockhurst counselor who worked with all Hurtado graduates when they became students at The Rock, was also recognized for her years of selfless work as she moves on from Rockhurst after 10 years of service.

Last week, six members of Rockhurst's Speech & Debate Team had the unique opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. for the National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) Grand National Tournament!

The group will continue their work this week and return home on Saturday.
There will be a second TIE Tennessee cohort later this summer, as well as TIE Tijuana and TIE Kansas City trips. AMDG
For 15 rising juniors, the summer break lasted only three days before they put themselves to work! These Hawklets and four faculty/staff chaperones departed for Robbins, TN on Sunday for the annual Total Ignatian Experience (TIE) Tennessee service trip.

On Monday, the group attended Mass at Church of the Ascension and settled into their home for the week. Yesterday they met the staff at Habitat For Humanity and quickly got to work installing porch railings, painting interior trim, and preparing for today's project: stairs.

The Rockhurst Choral Program recently hosted its annual Hawklet Showcase in the Rose Theater.
The two-night event was a "pops concert" featuring performances from all four choral groups and 22 musical soloists with tailored accompaniment by a professional live band.
