But influential city figures until recently constantly reassured residents they had the best & highest quality of life. I wonder.

@adriangarciaX @AlexanderGlista Yes, I agree. Airport approached the city to extend the tunnel deeper into the island to allow the public access, but city nixed that proposal. Urban planning & administrative execution of city expansion to account for the constant growth of Toronto has failed on so many fronts.

@adriangarciaX @AlexanderGlista Do you know how many billions of dollars that would cost. If you had a million residents on the island you might justify it, but Toronto can't build subways already where they're needed or at the very least it takes the city decades.

@benFsinger @jatchua @cooljessedude Some people believe the Leslie Street Spit, build on urban debris, overpopulated by certain bird species, is a nature conservatory that needs to be preserved. I agree it's special, but I have no romantic illusions. A beautiful beach once existed at its base.

@wodehouserey @jatchua @listenntalk Yes. It also misses the point: The Queen St streetcars are a beautiful way to go sightseeing along the length & breadth of Toronto. But who wants to take a sightseeing tour everytime they need to commute or go downtown. The same applies to many visiting the island in the summer.

@wodehouserey @alextapscott @AlexanderGlista The islands are virtually a gated community. It's not a park open & welcoming to all Toronto residents or visitors. It's probably the only city park you need to pay to visit. Yacht clubs members, Island residents & the visitors to Hanlan's Point Beach are probably all relieved.

Who'd have thought it's a tennis tournament? Or maybe it'd be more accurate to say celebrity tennis event.

@JeffSmithGolf This is one of the weirder post I've seen by a professional journalist or writer recently. Maybe McGinley was a bit self-conscious or thinking: if I can just make it past all these Secret Service agents alive, I can go have a drink or a bite to eat or meet some decent company.

@JulianAssange_2 This is so unusual, untoward & the opposite of apolitical - coming from the CIA director & could only occur during the current administration. The CIA is prohibited from spying on the domestic activities of U.S. citizens & has no domestic law enforcement authority in the U.S.

@MaryLTrump This is nutty. I'm surprised so few Americans aren't embarrassed by his antics. I would have thought this kind of social media was beneath the dignity of the US President. Meanwhile, what kind of role model is he for youth? What teacher would risk inviting him to a school?

@thomashawk The narrative of Nike's stock replays itself in many big apparel companies, UAA, VFC, HBI. Many analysts may be wondering how the company, despite its remarkable successes, ever became a a Dow constituent. The MAGA President's tariffs & trade policies can't be helping Nike.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if this Toronto journalist, who doesn't seem to leave the chair or mike often, was surfing the net for free content to post on his own social media or employer's news website - so he could post someone's work without attribution, credit, or payment.

It's weird being trolled on FB by a popular someone with a family friendly FB public profile with photos of him & children who decides to drop the equivalent of F-bombs on your FB profile in response to benign posts. I wonder how do you respond? No perfect answer: a basic block.

Devoted Family Man: My friend said he spent around a quarter of a million dollars commuting to work in a remote part of Canada from the Greater Toronto Area over several years. Many of those flights were on Porter Airlines from Billy Bishop Airport on the Toronto Islands.

I don't watch broadcast news; I listen to it like the radio & I keep hearing veteran, renowned reporters say they've never heard or seen anything like it before. When will it stop? (Actually, I hope it doesn't; I love journalism, especially when it's very engaging & interesting.)

Is Sideways the best movie argument for eating dinner at your desk? I wonder if I'll ever forget the last scene in the classic indie movie. Have to admit I've taken analogous road trips with one of my bipolar friends. I just can't tell you which; I have too many bipolar friends.
