@Steven_Hyden I saw my mom write checks at the store, when I wanted 12 8-tracks for $1 I found her purse and wrote a check to Colombia House. Huge box shows up, she’s at work. Within 3 months I’m getting mailers, just stamp and send back. I was 7. Always watch the quiet ones.

@GOLDBABYO Why I’ll always live in Texas: years ago my wife and MIL’s car broke down in the boonies on a hot afternoon. Before AAA could dispatch, two strangers pulled over to help, and a roadside neighbor brought them both an iced tea. I didn’t even get a cell call.

@ThrillaRilla369 I’m a baby boomer, so I had grandparents and great-grandparents born before 1900 still alive when I was a kid. Grandmother essentially raised my brother and I. Great-grandma collected eggs from the chicken house until she was 99, died at 102 in relatively good health.
