@JoeyWahler There were seasons where in the offseason Dave DeB pitched for the White Sox, wrote a book, was ABA Commissioner or the Knicks' GM. Quite a guy.
@ThatEricAlper This (great!) album is from the Sept. '79 MUSE concerts at MSG, not the June '82 CP rally. The '80 No Nukes film of the shows is even better. Unthinkable that neither has been expanded/reissued, esp w so many great performances unreleased.

@HoopsAnalyst Celts were easily the class of the league that season - the Knicks upsetting Bos in the playoffs was remarkable, then beating the Lakers was just icing on the cake. A title every bit as impressive (if slightly less dramatic) than 69-70.
@MikeVacc Yes - except the Knicks (w/3 games left) weren't up against the wall like the Giants when Tyree Tyreeached, the Mets when Mookie worked his 6th-game bottom 10th magic, or even the NY Giants when Bobby Thompson homered to beat Brooklyn. (Can't read your paywalled piece, alas)
@jgd0634 Cousy un-retired and put himself on the court just in time to enable the Knicks last-minute come-from-behind then-record 18th consecutive win in 1969. (Any thoughts @PeterVecsey1?)
It's official: The Beatles' first album, PLEASE PLEASE ME, was released closer to the 1800s than to the present day.

Incredible experience just being a fan at Game 4 at MSG!
This is why we love sports-Here was my angle for the game winnerโฆ @nyknicks down 29 and just kept choppin wood to give themselves a chance at the end-and won it with poise and determination.
Appreciate Mark Shapiro for the invite to witness it in person. Nothin better!
@abathrowbacks@MikeVacc@GlobeBobRyan That's a shame for all sides. I was disappointed that Soul Power didn't include a few of Pluto's book's best anecdotes (eg Dallas' owner saving $$ by taking his GM's (alphabetical) shopping list -not his GM - to the 1st ABA draft & getting lots of players w/surnames A thru C).
@abathrowbacks@MikeVacc@GlobeBobRyan Yes, and I've mostly enjoyed reading/watching him for 40 years, and have a sense of his perspective. Terry Pluto is the guy that Soul Power should've been sure to include.
