@GadSaad Don't burn that Canadian bridge too bad, you may have to walk back. The USA would be very different if another person would have been President.
Have you broken down the costs - the purchase or lease price, then the operating costs of using that engine plus batteries. Also the loss of space in the vehicle.
Too bad the dollars spent on these EREV's was not put in to battery tech - continue to make better and cheaper.
I guess the Chinese will be leading the way for us shorted-sighted westerners.
Or maybe "Donutlab" is real and not BS which would knock out all these new EREV's before they get to market.
@entreprneursonx And the board and shareholders allow it, ask why do they allow it, because they too are lining their pockets!!! Governments should never loan or bail-out established companies, full stop.
We would see a huge change in Canadian society for the better when everyone has a purpose. One of the biggest obstacles is a majority of Canadians have become so judgemental, so quick to criticize other people. We are no longer the polite society that the media types try to pretend we are. What has changed, in-rush of cultures different from where Canadians were headed, staying with “their” kind which creates the division which leads to animosity towards each other.
The governments at all levels feed this every time they celebrate this diversity with a day or month recognizing our differences instead of commonality.
Canada needs a new constitution where all citizens are treated equal in the eyes of the law, no exceptions from where you were born, who you like or who your parents were.
Otherwise we will continue to fracture to a Canada no more.
I have been following given previous company I worked at installed a private LTE system for them years back when the railroad was going north. A Canadian company, design and manufacturing in Ontario, bringing roadside connectivity in one of the world’s harshest environments, but they were acquired by a US company and development stopped, team sent home.
Why can’t Canada get sh$t done anymore, everywhere a cesspool of government blocks, no investors interested in Canadian hardtech despite the millions the government at all levels keep throwing at it.
Now we have to court European and American investors.
Infrastructure crumbling, things take 10 times longer and 10x more expensive. Taxes through the roof and nothing tangible to show.
Policies have to change, many should be deleted.
Coming from a very experienced Canadian technology guy.
@FoodProfessor When are you moving to the USA? Seems anyone who wants to have the discussion and challenges the government funded media and institutions gets hammered in to the f*** it state and just leaves Canada. Sad we have come to this in Canada.
@HettrickMichael yes, good coffee at a decent price, good food at a decent price, keep it clean, push the “Canadian content”, people still buy from Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, either Tim Hortons cleans up their act or bye bye.
@KirkLubimov I owe a big chunk in income tax (big for me anyways), the more you make the more they take. Anyways, could I ask for that amount owing to be invested in this fund, same principal borrow money to invest. Am I wrong?
Watched the NP YT video on the lost 10 years, now I am sad and disappointed in my fellow Canadians for voting for pure Liberal FUD. Nothing built only higher prices, more taxes, more crime, more government...
Better to call it the 10-year decay of Canada!!!
Does not help I submitted our income taxes: pay more, get less.
Need to move to some tropical island where the common folks are still respected.
@terrynewman@Taleeb Marketing over substance. Liberals are very good at selling a story. Would like to know who are the brains behind all this, we know it is not the public-facing elected officials. Make for a good report.
@terrynewman Following the Food Professor - he needs more time in front of the majority of Canadians to tell them what is happening under the Liberal government.
The more critical he gets the more he is being squelched.
I feel like Canada has become the land of illusion fueled by the media who have become the magician’s assistant. Nothing you hear, read or see from them is the reality we are living every day, not even close. Just pushing the talking points of the government. If a real journalist challenges the status quo they are silenced.
As the Catholic church slowly decays in to nothing, we can thank all these intellects in the Vatican and their leaders around the world. They were so intelligent to cover up the wrong doings in the church over the centuries and now will allow this final stage of demise. Allow mass wealth within the church and critiquing others for the same thing. Selling off their cemeteries to make a buck (Waterdown ON). No wonder those with half a brain left the cult. From an ex-Catholic.
@SpencerFernando To innovate and actually get things done means less restrictions in government policies at all 3-levels in Canada. This includes tax rates, subsidies and monopolies like our telecomm sector.
Financial success should not be demonized but celebrated.
Read up on Yugoslavia for a recent break-up, when people are pushed to the brink, they push back even harder. Economic woes, nationalism, deep division, happening across Canada now??? Like Quebec did at the time, Alberta just needs that charismatic leader, who will it be? Existing laws and treaties are only as good as the enforcement.
