@CathrynHeslep Hey Cathryn, let Cam know that when I was cleaning out my desk I found an old reel to reel tape of the 30th birthday celebration for Suzanne. It was like a radio play. We played at her party. I had totally forgotten about it. If Cam wants a copy of it let me know. Take Care!
Thank-you my friend and former colleague. You are missed around here but you also showed that when it’s to move on….seize the day!! I am excited for what’s ahead!!
Happy retirement to one of the radio legends! Talk about learning from one of the greats. Had so much fun on @CBCRadioActive with you @RodKurtzCBC. Edmonton will miss hearing your voice on the air. 🎉
Easiest interview ever! At 4:40 @CBCRadioActive I have the great pleasure of introducing you to the new voices you'll hear every afternoon on CBC Radio. OK, one new voice @JessicaNgCBC and an old voice @MinDhariwal Gonna be fun!!
Today @CBCRadioActive we are talking about things you wish you had learned....and you think it's too late! Can you change tire or change your vehicles oil? Have you never cooked a turkey? Can you french braid?
What do you regret not learning?
@RodKurtzCBC@CBCRadioActive I had a great instructor with Young Drivers of Canada at 16 years old. And again for class 6 with Edmonton Safety Council.
More than once what I learned save either my life or another. Kudos to all the driving/motor cycle instructors
@staceybrotzel@CBCRadioActive@RodKurtzCBC Passed first time, even the instructor was surprised. It was bitter cold with a lot of snow, the tester didn't want to get out of the car for anything 😂
@staceybrotzel@CBCRadioActive@RodKurtzCBC I got zero demerits(not sure how as I was allowed to attempt parallel parking twice?) Back when you went with your driving instructor to the exam . He was so pleased he took us out for lunch.Felt kind of bad as the girl who came with us didn't pass. It was a little awkward
Today the province announced it's getting rid of the graduated licensing program for Class 5 and Class 6 licenses. So UP FOR DISCUSSION @CBCRadioActive your driving lesson/driving test stories! Did you have an instructor or was it a parent? How many times did you fail the test?
@staceybrotzel@CBCRadioActive@RodKurtzCBC Saw deer in the park and the family dog being the type that thought it was bigger than it actually was ran up to them and barked at them. Then there was the time we came across some mountain Sheep they came up and licked our hands. Then there was the time a goose hist at me.
@RodKurtzCBC@CBCRadioActive@staceybrotzel Bear in tree, 30’ from ground-floor deck in Kimberley…spotted from the hot tub located on said deck…they come down out of trees rather quickly!
Coming up after 5:30...Jeremy Evans shares his story of being attacked by a grizzly bear. He's written a book about it. So UP FOR DISCUSSION @CBCRadioActive Your wild life encounter!! Have you stared down a bear?Or like @staceybrotzel been eyeball to eyeball with an elk?
@RodKurtzCBC
Was in Vernon end of August and we decided to rent a car instead of cabbing. The only vehicles they had left were Teslas! After a very quick tutorial we were off and it was great after a few minutes of getting used to the acceleration.
Today @CBCRadioActive we are talking to an electric vehicle expert ahead of the EV car show this weekend.
Up for Discussion...We want to know are you in the market for an electric vehicle? What would it take for you to buy one? If you already have one, share the pros and cons.
@RodKurtzCBC@CBCRadioActive I don’t read a physical newspaper anymore but I HAVE been in one…Comox Valley Greensheet for various Girl Guide good-doings, I wrote for The Gateway in the mid-90’s and was in The Journal in 2000 with my ex and our oldest son!
We're talking newspapers today @CBCRadioActive UP FOR DISCUSSION Do you still read the physical copy of a newspaper? Also, have you ever been in the paper? Did you get in for a sports achievement...or did you write for your local papers. Share your claim to fame.
Jason Kenney has rolled out phase two of his "Alberta is Calling" campaign...in Toronto. And that has us thinking about moving! What's your experience with packing up...and hauling your stuff somewhere else?
Do you purge...or bring it all with you? Too many books?
