How confident are you it was a leatherback and what distance from the shore was it. I’ve added it as T2023/25 in the TURTLE database.
All the way across the Atlantic - from nesting beaches in the US to the British Isles. Because they are ectotherms and can not regulate their body temperature, they die from the cold and strand on beaches. Like this sadly beautiful green turtle. (pic @RodPenrose) 💙
