In my experience, if you talk theory to the right person—to the curious person, or to the person who really needs a win and needs answers and wants to work for them—they love it.
The (liberal) problem is thinking "Convince anyone and everyone" is the success condition.
I keep telling all the communists this: you guys wanna talk theory to people while their eyes glaze over. Gets you nowhere. Your best pitch: show them this video and then explain that if you get your way, you’ll have her and everyone like her picking fruit for ten years before assigning them to a waste treatment plant. That one’s free.
"If you keep talking Marxist Theory you'll never convince Walton Wealthbucks, Rhett Redneck, Churchgoing Connie, Terfy Tess, and Iggy Incel!!!"
Who cares? Marxism doesn't revolve about winning a general election by watering facts down into flattery.
If you start from this core you can then fan out and come up with very creative proposals that reconcile the largest most universalist moral goals with practical policies projects.
But if you don't have that bedrock, everyone's stamina runs out eventually.
I know a lot of people hate "Sexism also hurts men!"-type arguments, but I think ultimately *if you really work them out* (i.e. if actually true, not just opportunistic pandering) they're great arguments.
All major historical communist figures deploy such arguments effectively.
Amílcar Cabral nailed it when he stated bluntly:
>Always bear in mind that the people are not fighting for ideas, for the things in anyone’s head. They are fighting to win material benefits, to live better and in peace, to see their lives go forward…
This is the only argument.
@SecondRingSZN@LambaDamba Beneath the patina of "I want what is best for everyone!! I just mistakenly think it's liberalism uwu" I think you're dealing with a lazy, putrid supremacist.
Go ahead but I don't think they're worth any effort.
"What would happen if capital succeeded in smashing the Republic of Soviets? There would set in an era of the blackest reaction in all the capitalist and colonial countries, the working class and the oppressed peoples would be seized by the throat…"
I remember when "being an American" meant bragging about your superior quality of life and material abundance. But apparently now America is all about boiling shoe leather and eating tree bark and scrimping and saving?
What happened here, fellas?
New @RedSailsOrg!
China has billionaires! A common, severe doxa in the era of BreadTube.
It's time to definitively refute this talking point by reconciling Marx and Stalin with Deng Xiaoping, "the architect of modern China."

American blockbusters promoting a capitalist ethos:
"Extraordinary people matter, the faceless masses don't. Superheroes, billionaires, rebels, and chosen ones standing apart from NPCs, zombies, sheeple, ants, and insects."
Chinese blockbusters promoting a communist ethos:
@never_run_dry I'd argue it's Hegelianism that combines Daoist dialectics with Christian theology.
Then Marxism secularizes Hegelianism by grounding it in scientific materialism.
Then the CPC sinicizes it.
@obamonarchist@WilyMongoose The official CPC stance on the GLF and GPCR is very self-critical: they think that they were flawed efforts even when well-meaning.
Westerners who think it's some sly dodge of the censor haven't researched how China understands its own history.
@WilyMongoose Even if we imagine that the book was cynical in this way (it was a common doomer POV in the 2000s, and mars the novels), the TV show improves upon it greatly.
In it, the spin is "The Third World vs. the West", and it works infinitely better.
Oh, I forgot one key spokesman.
Probably nobody roars for and defends this line of thought harder or more consistently than Stalin.
That's probably why nobody in history is hated more by liberals (also in anarchist and fascist variants) than Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin.
The "extraordinary" bias is what makes most Westie media unwatchable after a while.
Forget top-down CIA infiltration or whatever. Even when it comes to indie grassroots fanfiction-tier art, you hardly find basic stories about average people working together to overcome an issue.
