@DalrympleWill The UK getting rid of its Foreign Secretary won’t make a damned bit of difference to what is going on in Afghanistan. It would be nice if it could, but it won’t 😞.
@banner_harriet@Sevdotkay Well, this is exactly it… the judge felt she did not have the insight to recognise this would seriously harm or kill her baby. That’s why it was manslaughter not murder…
#stealthing is disgusting, and deserves punishment. But I’m curious… what about when a woman misleads her male partner in to believing she is using contraception, when in fact she isn’t, and is deliberately trying to get pregnant by him?
A huge thank you to @Gao_Phala for bravely speaking out about her experience with stealthing. Until recently, I had no idea it was a form of rape. By opening up the conversation, @thatslifeuk hope to raise awareness and encourage other women to speak out. #stealthing
@FlopsyPickle If anything, it was even worse than you describe, if such a thing could be possible. The experts think the baby would not have cried for help, because she would have learned from previous experience that crying brings no response. It’s just mind blowing isn’t it…
@PaperWhite10@DalrympleWill I also loved reading about Mrs Puri in that book. It seems hard to imagine coming across a more colourful character, apart from the possible exception, in my personal humble opinion, of her husband Mr Puri…
@RealVersatile Definitely agree she needs counselling and support. As for the length of the sentence… could you say more about what leads you to question the judge’s decision?
#verphykudi According to the reports, previous occasions had been noted where the mother had left her child alone unsupervised, including one incident where she was left alone for 2 days. Why didn’t social services intervene earlier? The whole thing makes no sense.
@Eastbournenews My heart totally goes out to Ziggy, his owner and all those who loved him.
I do think there is a dilemma for owners because cats love their freedom (and Ziggy, who I knew well, *absolutely* did), yet letting them outside always comes with risks.
