@mathematicards I would normally do it the first method, but going to try 3 - 5 is the same as 3 + -5 this year or subtraction is the same as adding the 'opposite'. Don't think my class could handle 'the additive inverse'

Lesson 1 -Students really struggled with collecting like terms. NOT a good lesson.
