🌈We've been using Pixel Art at Queenswood, where students were able to complete and create symmetrical shapes on Minecraft Education #minecrafteducation#mathsinminecraft
@juliefslater@OGACADEMY Well done Isobel, lovely to see so many praise postcards for Maths. I enjoyed teaching her so much last year and wish her all the best in her next adventure! Please pass on my best wishes 😊
👏Today at Queenswood, Year 10 have been building and describing transformations using Minecraft Education. They were able to show their understanding using blocks! #MinecraftEducation@Microsoft
@AhmedKhattabUK My little girl was born on 1st January, we missed out by a day! My sons C-Section was rescheduled from 31st March to 2nd April… 🤦♀️ such a bad system & inevitably cost us in the long term waiting for free childcare
@Arithmaticks@DrFrostMaths What a fantastic opportunity for you, I’ll look out for your amazing resources on the site! Both Chris and I were at Leeds City recently for the SLDM meeting and looked out for you - both of us have left OGA now x
How do you provide appropriate good learning opportunities for everyone in a maths class however 'mixed' their previous experiences are deemed to be?
Join #mathscpdchat TOMORROW at 7-8 pm!
Discuss this, and other 'mixed attainment' issues, with the host @becatherfold, & others.
🏫VACANCY ALERT! We are looking for an English teacher and a maths teacher to teach our wonderful students. If you would like to apply for these varied/interesting roles then please don't hesitate to click the link!

@FixingEducation The amazing Liz Meenan taught us how to do this during my PCGE year, such a fun activity and visual tool for learning! https://t.co/Wsx15xHQ6Z
@becatherfold I should add that I always start with developing the understanding that one negative and one positive tile creates zero which then is used quite often throughout.
@becatherfold I would say that a whole school approach is needed to embed it from early on, they can be taken away once the understanding is there. I have seen a huge improvement in student engagement and understanding since using algebra tiles in lessons.
