@RonDeSantis This bracket is a joke. Winter Haven & Plant City both have better downtowns than Lakeland. Lake Mirror & Hollis Garden are its only saving grace. Beyond that, I'd only recommend 2 restaurants and 1 bar. The Joinery has great vibes, but the food is underwhelming.
@SicknDamnTired@Cernovich The deed to a house is really a title of use, not a deed of ownership. The fact that we call it ownership is a euphemism. Don't pay your property tax & let's test your "outright ownership". Eminent Domain basically says the state owns all property.
@AleksYankov@AkkadSecretary The mortgage interest deduction is one of the most overstated benefits of homeownership. With larger standard deduction most don't even itemize anymore. Not to mention it's a deduction not a credit you don't get all that interest back.
@DennisTheProf@AkkadSecretary Doesn't depend on regulation? Zoning laws, building codes, and property taxes all directly affect what you can do with your home and its value. And eminent domain isn’t just theoretical, governments can seize property for public use, which is essentially forced sale or eviction.
@iamcoriarnold I don't follow. If aiming to pay $0 in taxes, wouldn’t contributing to a Traditional IRA or 401(k) make more sense? Roth IRAs don’t reduce taxable income now.
@EddyConero@saifedean How many animals and insects do you think are harmed by pesticides and tractors? Many are even deliberately poisoned to protect crops. The meat industry doesn't have a monopoly on animal cruelty.
@RektReznor@HotepDoobs I don't disagree with you at all. However, in the back of my mind I always wondered why powerful whites preferred one form of education over the other. You think they had our best interest in mind considering the time period?
@BenDoverLAL23@jasonvholmes@SamClay2020 Technically you were discussing both. I simply addressed your request to show you where a landlord was eating the costs.

@jasonvholmes@SamClay2020 Can you show me where you find a rental where the landlord is eating the costs for insurance, taxes, HOA fees and maintenance? You realize those costs are ALWAYS tied into the rent, right?
Investor horror story in Florida.
Bought this house in 2023 for $325,000.
Thought they could rent it out for $3,800/month.
Have since cut rent to $2,500/month. Still sitting vacant.
If they do rent it, they will be losing $8,300 annually after paying their mortgage.
Good warning of what can happen to real estate investors who buy in wrong market, at wrong time.
@BenDoverLAL23@jasonvholmes@SamClay2020 If a landlord insurance etc. went up they COULD increase rent to cover it. But if the avg rent in the area is lower a tenant doesn't HAVE to pay it, they can just find something cheaper. Landlord either lowers the price (eats costs) or unit sits vacant (eats costs)
