@NandoReturns @TopsideAcid @ranjitkodali@F1 Oh, and also, in this picture you can tell the way Lewis acted is different. On one he realized he wasn’t able to take the leas and backed off on time. On the other one he thought he had the space, but didn’t, and hit Max. The decision was made by Lewis before they even turned.
@NandoReturns @TopsideAcid @ranjitkodali@F1 “That’s racing” is such an empry thing to say. It’s only an excuse for something that happened that could’ve been avoided. So I’m supposed to search for another sport because I think the incident was cause by a driver (Lewis) that perfomed a dangerous maneuver?
@OscarMabuela@ranjitkodali@F1 Well, you’d think a seven-times champion would know the risk of doing a maneuver like that in one of the highest-speed corners on F1. I’d say that’s more than enough experience.
@OscarMabuela@ranjitkodali@F1 Still, Lewis choose to be aggressive even before both drivers started turning. You can see how he slowed down way before with Leclerc, but with Max he decided to push. Bus as Leclerc says, it’s hard for them to see since the driver’s view is almost close to ground level.
@edward88296642 @JDS1095 @ranjitkodali@F1 Check Lewis’ position here. With Leclerc Lewis was further on the inside, and you can see Leclerc and Max were had the same space. Max was chasing the apex as well as Leclerc, the difference is the way Lewis acted; on one he pushed, on the other he backed off
@OscarMabuela@ranjitkodali@F1 Well, since Max was ahead of Lewis, he had the right to defend his position and according to FIA rules, the defendant can pursue the apex, which is what Max is doing right there. Lewis should’ve backed off because he never took the lead on the corner but instead he choose to push
@annamagique@TmarTn@LuchoAntunez@Max33Verstappen That’s the key, he WAS backing out, but couldn’t completely because he dd it late. As the report says, he couldn’t reach the apex first, so he needed to give space to Max but failed in doing so. Maye Lewis didn’t do it on purpose, but he’s 100% responsible of the crash
@ranjitkodali@F1 This is the actual moment Lewis’ car hits Max. So no, the photo you uploaded is way before the curve comes. You can see Verstappen has the advantage over Hamilton
@TmarTn@LuchoAntunez@Max33Verstappen Still, Lewis knew he didn’t have enough space and still decided to push. He made the decision to be aggresive instead of pulling back a little.
@rohan_2612@F1 The thing is, the car behind gets what they call “dirty air” which is basically a negative impact on the car’s performance (especially on curves). The FIA implemented the DRS as a way to “treat” this problem, but its not a solution. They actually want to get rid of DSR
