🚨 Check out our new publication led by @KT_trainee on the effectiveness of tailored self-management #interventions for people with #MSK conditions @LLi_1@UBCNews@ArthritisSoc. This review will inform future interventions for this group💪🚴🧘♀️.

🚨 Our new publication from the MAPS-B study found implementing a cognitive dissonance intervention as part of an educational program and managing physical restrictions may ⬇️#sedentary time in #olderadults! Thanks to our funders: @MIRAMcMaster@CIHR_IA@HamHealthSci@AGEWELL_NCE
Congratulations to Geras Post Doctoral Fellow Dr. Isabel B. Rodrigues (@Rodrigues_IB) the publication of the MAPS-B study funded by @HamHealthSci, @MIRAMcMaster@AGEWELL_NCE and @CIHR_IA! ⭐️
This research provides valuable insights into the patterns and reasons behind #sedentary behavior in older adults, highlighting the complexity of targeting such behaviors for health interventions 📝 🏃
@scottcarlinpt You joke, but sometimes we get weird advice even if it is not April 1st. My pelvic health physio told me to stop running and do light exercises during pregnancy even though I've been a strong runner for 10+ years and was a low risk pregnancy. Luckily, I ignored this advice.
@sarahemilnes@l_giangregorio I find it easier to start with conversations on ontology, epistemology, and theoretical perspectives. Then based on those perspectives, one can take on a positivist, post-positivist, etc approach which then determines the types of qual methodology and analysis
@sarahemilnes@l_giangregorio It's interesting that you start with Braun and Clarke, because I personally found it confusing. It was probably because I was mainly a quant researcher moving into qual.
KT Program Scientists Dr. Tina Fahim, Sharon Straus & team have integrated an intersectional lens into the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research, & developed a tool for researchers to use w/ the updated framework! Read about it here: https://t.co/o4H5s7e80l #CFIR
@bartley_lowe @_amyhuang_ Yes the Armstrong paper was really interesting and I think emphasizes how important end-users are on the research team. Engagement through the research process is key!
@bartley_lowe @_amyhuang_ I actually don't agree with the saying. I have work under review that found context-specific sitting and prolonged sitting (>60 mins) are neg associated with muscle outcomes. Total sedentary behaviour may not be as important as not all behaviours are the same or necessarily "bad"
