Overheden willen omgekeerde vlaggen verwijderen. Trekkers mogen de snelweg niet op. De media besteed zo min mogelijk aandacht aan protesten en zet de boer negatief neer.
Men is doodsbenauwd dat de protesten aanhouden en uitbreiden naar andere sectoren.

@BartNijman Als niet treinreizigers onlangs 2 keer gereisd.

Beide keren moest ik er zomaar ergens uit omdat er iets was. Dan sta je te kijken als onervaren treinreiziger.

Gelukkig nam iedereen het gelaten want men is de shit gewend. De rest gevolgd... Veel tijd. Hoge kosten.

Je eigen gasputten dichtgooien voor het milieu en 16 keer zo duur gas importeren van 5000 km verderop, met schepen die varen op bunkerolie, Dat is de logica van de zelfmoordsekte waar we onder zuchten.
Van ons éigen Gronings aardgas,naar nu #LNG gas uit USA (16x zo duur).

To continue selling in all EU countries, I have to reckon with 15,000 euros in costs and gigantic administrative obligations.

It’s impossible! The EU is supposed to ensure more trade. But this does the opposite.

I have a micro-business. I mainly sell second-hand items (very sustainable). I sell to almost every country in the EU. 10 orders here, 25 there, 80 or other small quantities to other smaller EU countries. Somewhat larger quantities go to the larger countries. With the new EPR

With the new EPR / PPWR law, I have to register in each country separately following unclear procedures and obligations.

This might be the most European Commission thing ever, and it is insane on levels 1, 2 and 7:

“Companies that ship goods across borders will have to register in a directory in every destination country. This way, national authorities are supposed to find out who is importing which packaging where. If a company is active throughout the EU, it has to approach 27 different places, with 27 different deadlines, forms, and fees.

In addition, companies that have no branch in the destination country are supposed to appoint an authorized representative there. In other words, a contact person whom the local authorities can hold accountable. For many small businesses – such as booksellers, vintners, or beekeepers – this is too cumbersome and expensive. Hundreds therefore announced on Facebook and Instagram that they would stop shipping to other EU countries.

The EU Commission is now aware of the problem. ‘We encourage the member states not to apply the new rules and not to impose any fines,’ a senior official of the authority told a small group of journalists in Brussels last week. It’s a bizarre state of affairs: The European Union passes a law – and then assures citizens that they can ignore it. Violations won’t be punished anyway.”

EU:n pakkausasetus Ppwr astui voimaan eilen. Asetus on todella haitallinen etenkin pienille yrityksille ja tappaa EU:n sisämarkkinoita.

Esimerkiksi Suomesta Ruotsiin myytäessä joutuu nyt hankkimaan valtuutetun edustajan ja maksamaan EPR-maksut. Tämä hankaloittaa pienten yritysten toimintaa, sillä jos myynti on pientä niin nämä maksut voivat tehdä ulkomaanmyynnistä kannattamatonta. Suuret myyjät voittavat.

From 12th August, new EU packaging rules mean that as soon as you sell and ship a physical product in an envelope or box, you may become responsible for the packaging waste in the country it ships to.

To comply with PPWR/EPR rules, businesses may need to register and pay packaging/EPR fees in each individual country they sell into — even if they only send one package a year.

And the costs vary by country. Examples being shared:
France: €80/year
Germany: €15/year
Poland: €100–200/year
Spain: €200–400/year

There are 27 EU countries, so for a small business selling across Europe this can quickly become a significant administrative and financial burden.

And apparently this isn’t just aimed at huge corporations. In some countries there are no meaningful small-business exemptions: registration, annual fees, reporting and long-term record keeping can still apply even at very low sales volumes.

For micro businesses like mine, this potentially means having to make difficult decisions about which EU countries it is economically viable to ship to.

The EU is supposed to make cross-border trade easier. For small independent brands, this feels like it could do exactly the opposite.
