@MichaelTho43 Loved learning about Willie Nelson, his music is iconic, but it’s his long-term commitment to causes like Farm Aid and marijuana reform that really stood out. It’s cool to see someone stay true to their values while making a real impact.
@IPROMISESchool LeBron James has cemented himself as an NBA legend/celebrity, but he is truly much more than that. He founded the I PROMISE School for underserved kids & uses his platform to push for racial justice. A true role model beyond sports and sponsorships. #LIDC92
@emma_marku Hey Emma, Ruffalo’s shift from Hollywood star to outspoken activist is so powerful. He doesn’t just play heroes, he uses his voice to challenge power and push for real change, especially around climate and democracy. Nice Response!
@lewis_kace23321 Hey Kacey, Fund 4 Good shows how she uses her platform to uplift women and advocate for equity. It’s powerful to see young artists stepping into leadership roles like this. #LIDC92
@AquinoFern77316 Building an authentic online presence isn't just for brands, leaders need it too. Social media is a powerful tool for credibility & engagement. Great response and article! #LIDC92
@yuvrajatrutgers I also used a Forbes article, which honestly has a lot of content and articles on every aspect of leadership in the digital world. I chose an article on ways leaders can leverage platforms like X. Great connection to Ingerson and Bruce's readings. #LIDC92
@lorenzoJ_ Agreed! As someone who also knows Joey Swoll, he surely embodies every aspect of being a a virtual leader. For anyone who hasn't, you should check out his content. #LIDC92
Forbes gives insight/tips on how leaders can leverage X. Highlighting that engagement builds trust but also challenges digital narratives. This aligns with Heiman, J. & Timms', New Power, where leadership is no longer about control but rather influence and collaboration. #LIDC92
@KSarmiento96375 This is a great article and something I didn't really think about when providing leadership type presence online. Spreading positive mental health and also showing the negatives is incredibly insightful and does spread impact. #LIDC92
@EvangeliaM30697 Hey Evangelia, I agree! Tim Tebow has a massive following online and uses that to spread his religion and overall positivity. I also loved his play style when he played for the Florida Gators. #LIDC92
@yannivines2 Oprah is a great example of a powerful leader that lends a hand because she can. She not only bands people together with her online presence, she also starts real change. #LIDC92
@BERNADETTE94472 I like how you connected #BlackLivesMatter, a hashtag that I also advocate, with counter publics and the concepts we delved into in module 7 of #RUVirtualFA24. I love to see an enormous amount of people supporting such an impactful message.
@gabby__meyer#DisabilityAwareness was also something I looked in to and was shocked with the support and impactful messages that are being spread from this hashtag. This would surely associate with virtual communities and the concepts we learned in #RutgersDCIM.
#landback is to advocate for the Indigenous people and the reclamation of the land that was rightfully theirs. It serves as a space for marginalized voices to spread their visions of justice and decolonization, aimed at reshaping societal structures. #RUVirtualFA24#RutgersDCIM
@liv_sav5@ClimateConnex This is a great example! It shows that #climatechange does garner a wider spread of advocacy associated with the concepts of context collapsing that I myself, pray will lead to some form of change. I will definitely look into this!
@gabby__meyer I agree! This does relate to the concepts of context collapse, however I also believe it falls under the ranks of imagined audiences, since these images are produced in the first place to garner engagement from certain people. For #generativeart it may fall under a larger group.
#AITrending displays the incredible power of what AI can truly do. This feeds into the nature of imagined audiences and how it aims to capture those who are fueled to debate about such volatile technology. Something I would love to debate myself in #RutgersDCIM#RUVirtualFA24
@yannivines2 This is an incredibly important and relatable tweet for #RutgersDCIM within our upcoming election. It is not highlighted enough, that the involvement of Black Leaders in the Biden-Harris administration is a great step forward for #BlackLivesMatter!
