Rohingya refugees came together to celebrate women’s strength.
It is the 9th Ramadan for 80-year-old #Rohingya Laila Begum in Bangladesh. Nine years of praying to one day be able to return to Myanmar.
Her heart is still in Myanmar, but as her mobility declines, so does the hope she'll celebrate another Ramadan in her homeland.
Standing in Cox’s Bazar today with 🇺🇦 Amb. @OPolishchukUA & 🇫🇷 Amb. @JMSereCharlet was a powerful reminder of what solidarity looks like. Ukraine provided 3,000 tonnes of sunflower oil, 🇸🇪 funded via #GrainFromUkraine. This will feed 1M Rohingya for 3 months.
UN Women with humanitarian partners and Rohingya community representatives, launched the #UNiTE campaign in Cox’s Bazar camps.
Over 500 joined to spark dialogue on ending digital violence and creating safe online spaces for women and girls.
