I grew up a Texas Rangers fan, and in the Navy the past 19 years living far from home I've tried to watch them with various packages and plans. Almost every time I tried to watch them - blackout. I gave up on the MLB, occasionally checking standings but never even try to watch.
My dad is 75 and lives in Iowa. He got the MLB Extra Innings package to watch the Tigers again this year - something he plans his whole day around.
Tonight, Detroit (664 miles from his house) hosted Milwaukee (360 miles from his house). Couldn't watch. Blacked out. (1/2)
@cdrsalamander I just barely got to wear wash khaki - 2009 was the beginning of my JO tour and if I remember right we switched to the blue NWU within the first year.

There might be another section with a caveat, but I've never seen one.
@AlDhabbit@F530Josh@infantrydort I don’t think that’s right. Navy uniform regs don’t specify that from what I can tell. As to what’s customary that might be different. I prefer top 3 myself (in part because updating a ribbon rack is expensive!).
@F530Josh@AlDhabbit@infantrydort The rule doesn’t say top 3 authorized only for khakis. But again, not sure what’s customary. To each his or her own imo. I like top 3.
@politicalmath@patio11 I got a term policy later than I should (age 33 with a wife and 3 kids). A couple years later had serious heart problems develop and was so glad I’d taken the step. Only wish I’d opted for a higher amount.
I am the luckiest beat reporter in all of college athletics because I have these top-notch professionals to work with. I moderate podcasts covering @NavyAthletics and @NavyFB in addition to covering all varsity sports. These folks make my job easy on all accounts. Congratulations
@hunterbaker@RonDeSantis The Texas Rangers being 1 strike away from winning it all - TWICE IN THE SAME GAME - in 2011 was brutal. I also had the Dallas Mavericks win the first 2 over Miami and lose 4 straight. It’s hard being a fan sometimes! Both teams eventually won it all!
@OldGnarlyGoat One of my biggest pet peeves. I actually think khakis are much more comfortable (especially over boots) and just look more professional.
@hagaetc@hagaetc Where did this chart come from? I'm doing some research on military fitness tests and have found a similar effect at the passing cutoff. Would be nice to see another study as a comparison.
