Love this from Charlie. They were standing near the entrance to the visiting locker room and hugging and high-fiving players and coaches as they came off the field.
Here is a look at the latest intensity guidance for Invest 92L… most of the members are now suggesting the system will be at hurricane strength by the time it reaches the central Gulf Coast on Saturday.
Also, I’ve attached the latest track forecast from the Google Deep Mind model, which performed very well last year. The mean of the ensemble members is right up through the Alabama coast.
The name of this storm will be Isaias. Needless to say there is a good chance this will be a high impact event for the Gulf Coast and for the rest of Alabama this weekend.
Threats will include high wind, heavy rain/flooding, and a few isolated tornadoes.
But it remains too early for impact forecasts for specific points. We should be able to do that tomorrow night, when the system will be much better organized, and we have access to dropsonde data from hurricane hunter aircraft.
I will have a new video briefing here by 3:30 this afternoon…
Alabama LB Xavier Griffin is the 247Sports True Freshman of the Week 🐘
Griffin posted a team-high 9 tackles, recorded his first career sack, a quarterback hurry and added four pressures in a 56-23 win at Mississippi State.

JULIO... WITH THE STRETCH! 🤯
On this date in 2016, Julio Jones became just the sixth player in NFL history to record 300 receiving yards in a game.
No player has reached 300 since. Tyreek Hill came closest with 269 yards in 2020.
NEW: The College Football Playoff committee will now consider a strength-of-conference metric in its selection process, @CFBHeather reports.
The new metric will help determine the strength of each conference based on the schedule strength of each team in its league.

🚨🚨INSANE🚨🚨
#NFL defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson was smart enough to attend HARVARD — but chose ALABAMA FOOTBALL instead.
Tomlinson was heavily recruited both academically and athletically and had the opportunity to play football at Harvard.
Then Alabama came calling.
He chose the Crimson Tide, became a NATIONAL CHAMPION and eventually developed into an NFL second-round pick.
His intelligence continued to stand out years later, with Giants executives saying Tomlinson delivered one of the most impressive NFL Combine interviews they could remember.
Harvard-level academics.
Alabama-level football.
Not a bad combination.
@travisreier That last TD drive is what Alabama football has always been. The defense today, not so much. Maybe Wommack should consider more split safety coverage……like the goat suggested.
Here is the Week 2 CFB Worksheet…Thank God for the SEC this week 🫣
