1/ On Buying The Statue of Liberty

I did a lecture today for @giaglis's MOOC on NFTs and I got the RCSA question.

"NFTs are just a receipt, just a pointer to an image. I can download them and view them without buying them"

A classic question! Here is what I said.

Some of the most fun I’ve had on X came from watching performance art unfold. You had to be here to understand how much fun it was.

It was so much fun to watch the Great Color Study by @lphaCentauriKid unfold and to get to experience the mystery live.

Going even farther back than the ACK, was a masterful example of curation by @VinceVanDough… the fake rare drop of July of 2022. People were excited to see the debut of each artist’s work everyday - it felt like an event and I think it was performance art - it showed the relatively ETH-centric art space that Pepes reign supreme. You just had to be there.

A more recent example is the GMail Sunsetting hoax by @SHL0MS. NGL, I definitely had a laugh at the media taking the bait.

If you follow the right people, you get to see some really interesting performance art.
