The Church of Refugia Doctor of Ministry cohort recently spent ten days in Oahu, HI, participating in their final intensive as a cohort, which launched in 2022. Led by Drs. Ron and Deb Rienstra, this cohort invites faith leaders to engage in deep theological reflection and practice, exploring how to identify and cultivate refugia—sanctuaries of renewal and hope.
Throughout their ten-day experience in Hawaii, students presented their doctoral projects at First Presbyterian Church, delved into the region's rich history, and shared meaningful time in community.

When @exxonmobil's CEO pointed the finger at the public as the cause of the #climatecrisis, @billmckibben spoke to @MSNBC to clear the air: "[they have] waged a 30 year campaign of disinformation & denial, which was completely contrary to what they knew about climate change."
@roddysteves I bought a new chef's knife for myself last Christmas and you are right. Keep that baby sharp and it's like playing a Martin D-28 vs. a used Washburn.
When I consult with orgs around abuse, there are few things more wearying than the, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m totally with you and see it that way too” followed by complacency and inaction.
Action, not feigned empathy, is a sign of real compassion and care.
