The perception of individuals with low back pain regarding reassuring information: Insights based on physiotherapists messages

Time for less painsplaining ? 👇
Messages that emphasized patient autonomy and the absence of red flags were perceived as particularly reassuring and received the highest ratings (≥80%).
💥New and important study from my friends. They examined what messages patients with low back pain found reassuring. The interesting findings is that all the usual painsplaining neuroscience messages were the least favorite!
Well done!

After 1.5 years, my second PhD paper is out!
We developed a novel tool to assess physiotherapists' confidence in managing low back pain via direct access & primary care.
Findings show Israeli PTs are ready for the task.

“reassurance should not only target anxiety but also encourage physical
activity to reinforce positive coping mechanisms and thus reduce the risk of chronicity.”

🚨 New research from our lab! 🚨
Advanced medical screening training boosts physical therapists' confidence & self-efficacy in low back pain care, with effects lasting 6 months!

New from our lab, the last paper of my PhD work published in @ISEKCongress describing potential benefits of incorporating NMES to exercise therapy in patients with chronic ankle instability.

In our recent study, we demonstrate that automatic anticipatory peroneal postural responses are decreased in middle-age, whereas reflexive postural responses appear to be intact. Brief neuromuscular EMG-BF training showed an immediate positive effect.

Happy to share our latest paper, as part of our effort to identify markers of functional deficits in midlife that could promote better and healthy aging. Our results show that reduced light affects middle-aged subjects more than young and old adults. https://t.co/eyPSMIbLj3
The need for a questionnaire designed especially for midlife is critical, as this population faces unique challenges. In this report, we call for a Delphi expert of health care professionals to develop a physical functional questionnaire for middle age

Physical therapy is an integral part of the rehabilitation process after surgery or injury. As the name implies, therapy should be physical in nature, and grounded in active, progressive exercise. Passive modalities are not your friend. Passable downies are even worse. 🤣 #OSSA
A new study from our lab finds no association between dynamic balance tasks in individuals with Chronic Ankle Instability. This may be due to altered central neural control and highlights the importance of multiple assessments of postural control

In our recent study, we translated, culturally adapted and modified questionnaire to measure clinician self-efficacy in treating patients with LBP

In our recent study, we showed that Functional Tests performed up to 3 weeks after an acute Ankle Sprain can help Predict Ongoing Ankle Instability
