There's nothing like getting shot at to make you think hard about societal problems. We, as a society, need to do better. In a country as wealthy as Canada, abject poverty shouldn't be a thing. I would much rather risk a few people gaming the system than anyone going hungry..1/21
@DruhFarrell Thanks Druh.
Sometimes, the what is more important than the who. I'm hopeful that this move clears the way for Jennifer to be successful in her bid, bringing long needed change to Ward 2 leadership.
@RKSAlberta @JenniferWyness Definitely not an easy decision, but sometimes we must make them nonetheless for the greater good of the causes we fight for. With ego removed, it was the right decision.
Today, I am announcing my withdrawal from the race for Ward 2 and endorsement of fellow candidate, Jennifer Wyness.

@midtoad@bpincott As much as I agree that our current councillor should not retain his seat, I will argue the "anyone but" statement. We need someone with a balanced and responsible approach to governance for our city to be successful.
@JeffDavisonYYC@ParksFdnCalgary This announcement is welcome news to our household as well. We have a long way to go in accessibility and inclusion in Calgary, but this is a great step in the right direction.
@meksmith With any luck, his criminal activity will catch up to him before September, putting him behind bars during this election cycle.
Surely, we have mechanisms in place to prevent people like this from running?!
#taylorfortwo campaign is ramping up fundraising & asking Albertans to donate. The effort to become the next Ward 2 councillor in Calgary needs your generosity & support. Any amount is greatly appreciated. https://t.co/fU63voFXzF

@meksmith It's one thing to repay "erroneous expenses", but along with that, council and Ward 2 residents are expecting an apology and accountability. The people will have their say on October 18th.
You're not yet square with the house, Joe!
