Perhaps the most disturbing implicit judgement about Prince William's PR drive on homelessness is that tackling homelessness is somehow an unpolitical social phenomenon - and therefore an appropriate mission for a royal to embark on.
Wasting my evening trying to convince ChatGPT that the "ish date" is a real thing in Scottish housing law... genuinely concerned it doesn't know about it but at least my job is safe for now #AI

@Lawscot@lokiscottishrap@Daily_Record Legal aid is so important to help vulnerable people get the right help at the right time! The fees paid simply do not cover the work, especially for housing cases. Other lawyers are shocked at the work I have do for free or very low fees to protect my clients. #AccessToLegalAid
@Palestalemale1@mikedailly@TCYJimB As a previous street lawyer there is lots in terms of the definition of homelessness, and maybe intentional/unintentional that could form a lesson, then a critical look at whether we have the balance right! That's how I'd approach it anyway, happy to discuss if that would help!

It's like having a government that thinks road safety should be completely up to 'individual responsibility': no traffic lights, no highway code, no law about driving on the left, no crash barriers, ... Absolutely bonkers.
"Very often the law is on your side, but there's no remedy for you. And that's... a very basic affront to the fundamental principle of our democracy."
