The decision to run for Mayor of Oakland, a city that I have long called home, is not one I take lightly.
As my time in Congress wraps up, my current priority is navigating the crisis before us in DC. I am working around the clock to reach a deal that will keep our government open and provide critical resources for my district.
I will announce my intentions in early January.
Could not ask for a clearer writeup of the fiscal realities of Muni and SFMTA, and why passing Prop L is urgent. Thank you @SPUR_Urbanist!

The voters – through regular elections, not a few billionaires – are the ones with the power to ensure our democratic process remains strong and in place.
Now is the time for us to come together and work to address the real and serious issues facing our communities.
About 60 comments so far, all in support of clean appliance standards except one. Next up: students from East Oakland speaking about what clean air means to them. #bayareacleanair
My 1st grader's school culture centers the needs of its young boys and girls of color. OUSD budget cuts put this at risk by cutting positions focused on restorative justice and social emotional supports. Donate to the Cleveland Culture Fund! @givebutter https://t.co/G0xOK8WOO8

Oakland Measure H would extend a parcel tax that funds public school college and career readiness. The program has proven benefits for students, especially for low-income students of color — Vote Yes. https://t.co/eCbgAUO9TU
Let’s be real: there’s a WHOLE lot of men whose lives, careers, and families have benefited from an abortion (including several “pro-life” GOP Congressmen).
Men, we need you right now. You can get through in rooms others can’t. Your power matters. Speak up. This is about us all.

Our nation’s divide is only gonna get worse y’all. Brace yourselves. And while we fight for our basic human rights, support your communities in getting the abortion they seek — the reproductive health care that is their RIGHT. (3/6)
