STATEHOUSE TODAY: @KagutaMuseveni met with @WFPChief (Cindy McCain), the Executive Director of the @UN World Food Programme (@WFP), to discuss strategies for improving refugee livelihoods and promoting self-reliance through efficient land use.
Dear Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu,
Last night, on UBC, I saw a cluster of Opposition MPs, led by one Kivumbi, expending a lot of energy on the supposed sh. 100 million per person given to MPs through classified funds, etc.
I have one question: “Dear Sirs and Madams, have you ever heard of foreign funds being sent into Uganda to influence our politics in favor of the foreigners?” Secondly, the next question is: “If you are the anti-corruption warrior you claim to be, why have you never talked about these foreign funds?”

I had the distinct honor of closing the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, which was officially opened by H.E. @KagutaMuseveni at the start of the week. Uganda is proud to have hosted this significant forum, which brought together heads of state, ministers, parliamentarians, academics, civil society, the private sector, and other key stakeholders.
As we pursue urgent African solutions to African challenges, science, technology, and innovation must be placed at the center of this agenda. Inclusive growth requires investment in African innovators and the strategic use of technology to address the continent’s pressing issues. However, this also means making technology affordable and accessible, especially for rural communities. If technology remains out of reach for many, our progress will be limited.
Both collectively and individually, we must now turn the forum’s ideas into tangible policies, programs, and investments that improve lives. I reaffirm Uganda’s continued commitment not only to driving these important conversations but also to taking concrete action in addressing Africa’s development challenges.
I have this afternoon joined the President of the Republic of Uganda H.E. @KagutaMuseveni and other dignitaries at Yumbe Boma Grounds in Yumbe District for the commemoration of 23 years of peace and security in Westnile. We congratulate the NRM government and the people of...

Thank You so much the Youth of Jinja City, Kamuli and other places in Busoga for turning up in large numbers today to listen to the message of peace, security and development.

Together, we can do more by embracing development and shunning all forms of criminality.
This afternoon, @AntiGraft_SH, along with @CID1_UG and @ODPPUGANDA, have arraigned a reknown land dealer in Mukono, Kityo Seruma Green Way Edward and Kazibwe Yusufu before the Grade 1 Magistrates Court in Nakifuma on charges of forcible entry and conspiracy to commit an offence.
The accused and others still at large, between 2020 and 2023, violently entered the kibanja (land) belonging to Kamundu Martin in Nakasajja Village, Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono district and destroyed property, trees and crops with the intent of taking possession of it.
They went ahead and conspired with one of the administrators of the land, subdivided into plots and sold it to different persons. They have been remanded until April 28, 2025.
While opening the 8th African Leadership Forum at Munyonyo today, I emphasised that Africa cannot achieve sustainable development without a deliberate process of economic and ideological transformation. I reminded delegates that even before independence, Africa’s primary challenge was the lack of political power. After gaining independence, many countries descended into chaos due to weak states and a lack of purposeful politics.
In Uganda, our economy has evolved through six distinct phases: minimum recovery, economic expansion, diversification, value addition, the knowledge economy, and now a focus on science and innovation, including vaccine production.
Therefore, when we discuss sustainable development, we refer to building a new economy driven by transformation.
I delivered a keynote speech at the 11th Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD), detailing Uganda’s economic phases from the enclave economy of the 3Ts and 3Cs plundered by Idi Amin, to minimum recovery, diversification, value addition, and now, the economy of knowledge through making vaccines and automobiles.
This means that the solutions are with us, once we tackle the 10 strategic bottlenecks pegging us back. For instance, Uganda has 40m acres suitable for agriculture, if we use only 7m of these acres and everyone creates 7 jobs, we shall create over 100m jobs, and yet jobs are not only to be created in Agriculture. We have industries, services, and ICT.

I am inspired by the unity of purpose at #ARFSD11. The voices of our youth and the resolve of our leaders reflect a deep yearning for Africa’s renaissance. Let us rise to this call- grounded in faith, innovation, and value addition. May God guide us as we uplift generations.
His Excellency, President @KagutaMuseveni was the Guest of Honour at the Makerere University Research and Innovations Week today, where he engaged with exhibitors and delivered a compelling speech at the Freedom Square grounds.
In his address, President Museveni reminded Ugandans that the lagging progress in science and technology was one of the main reasons Africa suffered colonial exploitation.
He asserted, “From the very beginning, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) recognised that this was one of the major bottlenecks for the progress of Uganda and Africa, as well as the survival of the African people.”
