The rebuild phase. Replacement panels needed cutting, reshaping, and adjustment before welding. The rear frame was rebuilt piece by piece, with shock mounts and cross plate fitted precisely. By the end, it was whole again in primer.

These were the eBay listing photos that started it all: a 2000 W-reg Honda C90T in Colchester. I drove from Coventry in my Saxo to collect it, stripping half the bike in the seller’s driveway to fit it in the car.

With the damage clear, I had to choose: replace the frame or repair the original. Keeping the original VIN and the bike’s identity intact mattered, so I loaded it up with repair panels and took it in to be welded.

The decision was made: a new frame, ordered directly from Honda through my local Coventry dealer. Repairs and repainting would have cost almost as much, without a new frame. £330 total, including a £300 frame and £30 cross plate.
