This obsession for the regenerative beauty of trees, this timberpunk view of returning to a yesteryear we've long since depleted, this puerile faith in nature to clean up our adult-sized mess, our love of forests may yet be the end of them.

@simonbwilson@NZNationalParty@nzlabour@nzherald You're doing a bit of magical thinking of your own, Simon. Solving climate change does not mean solving everything. In just one article you've conflated it with public health, poor quality housing, and congestion. One thing at a time, mate. Focus.
What I've learned at an early age is that history happens whether you like it or not. That's why I moved to New Zealand. In the next 20 years, history will happen. I want to be as far away from it as possible.
@CJoyBellC It's a great show and I love Graham's books, but the constant depiction of scientists "refusing" to accept his conclusions is delusional. Usually the science hasn't been done or the funding isn't there for a dig. I wish Netflix had paid for that instead.

If Thanos snapped his fingers today, the world population would reduce to what is was in 1974. That's it. We'd just start all over again. That's terrifying. When we set #carbon limits by #2050 are we planning for 12 billion people?

Climate change is no longer a nice-to-have. It is a must have. Industries who do not replace fossil fuels in their supply chain will be themselves replaced by those who do.
