Let’s consider 12/2(5-2)=18 let’s multiply each side by 2, we get 12x(5-2)=36, 12x(3)=36, 36=36 which is true. Let me know if I did something wrong

@DavidJo52519150 @engineers_feed So brackets first 12/2(5-2) becomes 12/2(3) we have now solved everything inside the brackets so we move onto indices, then division and multiplication, this is done left to right, so 12/2 becomes 6(3)= 18

In your previous solution to the original question you did it this way to get 2

@engineers_feed For people who get 2, it is easier to turn the division sign into a fraction this way it becomes 12/2*(5-2) this way it does not matter which way the terms are multiplied because you will get the same result, 18

NOTE: 12/2*(5-2) does not equal 12/(2*(5-2))
