Disturbing incident in Outremont, Montreal: video shows an individual repeatedly attempting to snatch shtreimels, the fur hats worn by Hasidic Jewish men on Shabbat, before reportedly making off with two before fleeing.

Not an isolated case. Outremont’s Hasidic community is often the victim of physical intimidation and violence.

Everyone deserves to feel safe in the city. Time to act.

An honour to visit the construction site of the new Montreal Holocaust Museum on Saint-Laurent today.

More than a building, it’s a place to honour the survivors, teach the next generation, and confront antisemitism and hatred wherever they appear.

Passover has endured for thousands of years because its message never gets old: that oppression doesn’t last forever, and that hope is worth holding onto.
But this year, as we retell the story of our liberation, let’s also remember what makes us who we are. Our strength has never come from becoming like those who hurt us. It comes from refusing to. From healing, not just fighting. From searching for the good, even in darkness.
