You have heard about “settler violence” and have questions. How big a problem is it? What kind of violence is it? @KoheletForum has some answers. https://t.co/vrDr3MiAZB
Nobody ever got stabbed when I was a kid. I had a hunting knife when I was in the boy scouts. I wore it all the time.
We all had knives in the scouts. Nobody ever thought of stabbing anyone.
Of course we had the advantage of being civilised.
Just saw my gpa's discharge papers from the US Army in WWI, where he served as a machine-gunner in France, and was mustard-gassed three times. He came back mostly deaf and with damaged lungs.
But the paper: "Wounded in action: slightly", and "0% disability".
Tough times.
It was also a mistake, because after almost 50 years, Egyptians still don’t want peace and actively work to undermine Israeli security.
The problem with previous arrangements was that Israel traded something valuable - and real and tangible - in exchange for a piece of paper. Egypt decided to quietly subvert the agreement at zero cost to them . If Israel wants to walk back the agreement, it will be costly.
You condemned Israel for using "chemical weapons" in Gaza and Lebanon even though you were talking about white phosphorus?
Do you understand how stupid this makes you sound? 👇
If the interests of the US and Israel "diverge" (or are perceived to) then sure, the US should pursue its own interests. But Israel should do the same. Israel has no obligation to be bound by agreements entered into by the US, nor should it be.
