"No, all hope cannot be pinned on science, technology, or economic growth. The victory of technological civilization has also instilled in us a spiritual insecurity. Its gifts enrich, but enslave us as well.”
In poor families, girls often become financial pressure before they ever get to become adults.
That sounds harsh, but poverty is harsh.
If there is no steady income, no savings, and no work nearby, marriage can start to look like the practical answer. One less child to feed. One less person in the house.
Then the girl enters a husband’s home with no money of her own.
If he becomes violent, where does she go? How does she pay rent? How does she eat the next day?
This is why free markets matter so much for women.
A free market means she can sell, work, save, keep her money, and build a small life that belongs to her. Even a tiny income changes the balance of power.
A woman with no income has to ask permission.
A woman who can earn has options.
@DrFrankTurek Men will have to take on the role of becoming men, there is only so much blame you can place on the women. No amount of preaching and teaching can change that, men have to stop whining and complaining and taking on roles of leadership which requires them to be responsible.
I’ve had people ask me why I accept healing testimonies without proof. The answer is simple: I don’t discriminate when it comes to testimonies.
I’ll believe you just the same whether you say God delivered you from drugs, saved your marriage, or healed you.
@JesseKellyDC@Cernovich Two kingdoms are at war: The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Darkness. The four horsemen and the Beast System are global communism: white (a deceptive leader who promises peace), red (once in power, mass murder), black (famine), green (death). Those who don't accept it die.
@AndrewZywiecMD Vaccine manufacturers trust and believe in their products so much that they petitioned Congress for immunity from any adverse reactions a person gets from their products. People still line up to get them while complaining of how corrupt pharmaceutical companies are. It's crazy!
You think you can live a common life – as in, doing whatever things most people do at the time – where you can sort of fit Christ in, make them align. And that's a nice start, but one day it'll truly hit you that following Christ means you won't fit into this life; which is good.
A healthy person values truth more than all their defensive evasions and distortions.
His life is dedicated to the question "what is true here?" rather than "what increases my power in this situation?"
