@PamelaorPam@eternaltxts I learned that either way, the problem is going to be resolved. The question is whether it's going to be resolved in a better or worse way due to your actions or inaction. Fix it before it gets fixed for you

That back‑and‑forth isn’t weakness, it’s fatigue from trying. It’s what happens when someone keeps showing up without enough rest, reassurance, or relief. Hope pulls you forward, exhaustion pulls you back, and your mind keeps switching gears just to survive. That “emotional whiplash” is the cost of resilience no one talks about.
The important part: this doesn’t mean you’re failing or unstable. It means you’re human and stretched thin. Sometimes the goal isn’t to feel hopeful or strong, it’s just to stay, breathe, and let the moment pass without judging yourself for it.
You’re not broken for feeling this way. You’re tired from carrying too much for too long.
@grayyse@polypocketknife But now I see the other side of the argument much better and I'm grateful you educated me about it. For what it's worth, I'm not gaslighting you when I say I see you in a better light than you do but I won't tell you your life experience is wrong and that I a stranger know better
@grayyse@polypocketknife This sounds like an extreme version of what most cis women go through in the sense that there's no being feminine enough or pretty enough in society, though I can't imagine how it must feel to be in your heels. They must ache so much more than ours.
@polypocketknife I think about this quote whenever I think about my time repressing. I was good at it, people liked me for it, and every time without fail the second the dopamine I got from the approval of others faded I felt a little emptier for it
@polypocketknife@KarrenLines You couldn't help but be honest. Lying to yourself and others is too hard for you. This is honestly one of the greatest qualities someone can have but unfortunately it usually only benefits others who don't deserve it
@polypocketknife Some people are better actors than others and some are more determined to fight who they are than accept that they'll never be a man. Random question, what lipstick are you wearing in your picture? It's the exact kind of red I'm looking for!
