@imagineinquiry I taught BTEC App. Sci. to 'lowest' groups in Year 11. Gave a gcse C equivalent & got students into Further Ed courses. Stopped as results didn't count for OFSTED, students put in for GCSE Science to achieve G. Didn't get to college, but scored points for school. I retired!

@Brian70362077 @eawoman @OgilvieCJ We've stopped going to theatre in York because of this(live in Selby). Park and ride ends too early to get back after theatre. Drive to Hull: same shows, easier drive and cheaper parking

@ICT_MrP 40 years teaching, married to another teacher. Always said we would sacrifice 2 weeks of long holiday to gain a few days we could take when WE chose, to attend our own kids' sports days/assemblies, family weddings, etc

@FFG16_CSP @katy_fit At 73, I'm in the same position as you, as I used technology in my workplace. As a library volunteer, I see large numbers of people, younger and older than me,who have never worked with technology and are completely lost. OR widows whose husbands took care of it

@Beth_Tastic @SpcialNdsJungle My 32 yr old daughter has needed inhalers & epipens since primary school. Since year 3, she carried her own, with spares in office. Before this, teachers & lunch supervisors always had them for her. As a 2ndary teacher myself, all students carried their own, & school spares.

@HighwaysWMIDS We joined the queue at J25 yesterday afternoon, unaware of this load. Gantry signs stated 'obstruction', Google maps said 'accident'. Implied that we would soon pass by incident. Could have travelled a different route had we realised we would drive at 15mph for 5 hours until M18

@OrevaZSN When I started knitting 60 years ago I only used pure wool yarn. Its so expensive now ( anything like£10 for 50g) that I have to use synthetics, which are nowhere near as nice. Wool is being dumped, please can we have it back again for a sensible price?

@TolentinoTeach 2 weeks ill, coming down from work and marking outstanding coursework ; 2 weeks on holiday with children(both parents teach, so precious time); last week of this holiday worrying about upcoming GCSE & A level results; rest of holiday preparing for next year.

@mrbrownpod Before I retired, year 6 pupils moved up and we started the next year's timetable; very popular in this area. Before that, it was invaluable time for subject curricular planning. Well, what are the 6 weeks of holiday for???

@MediocreDave Always told that no upper legal temperature for UK teachers. Ex science teacher, always had to teach topics involving lots of bunsen burners in summer weather in a lab with no ac and windows screwed closed for security. Often above 40 degrees!

@DrNeilStone Epipens aren't free from NHS. Daughter is prescribed them for anaphylactic food allergies. Due to caution she has never had to use one, but has been paying prescription charges to replace them when they expire since she was 18

@marksandspencer Sparks revision seems promising , but poor girl at entrance of Selby store will soon kill the next person who tells her there is no 4G/5G, so they can't use the app. Pity a shopping centre was built in an area with no Internet!
