In September, our schools started their @KineticLetters journey (thanks to recommendations from people on here!) The buzz from staff and pupils is amazing. One of our teachers sent this across, demonstrating the progress of a Y6 pupil who has always struggled with handwriting.

@Suchmo83 I’ve done it with the odd slow word reader with strong comprehension as a strategy to use if they’re running out of time and need to pick up a couple of marks quickly in the last 5 minutes but certainly wouldn’t use it as a strategy for all.
Eventually getting around to reading this (most definitely didn’t have the brainpower when it was first released!) and feeling pleased we’re ahead of the game on most of it 🙌
I realised today that it's 10 years since I first doodled a whale on a rooftop, and 5 years since Orphans of the Tide was published. I can’t quite believe that I still receive letters from readers about it, and am so grateful to the teachers&librarians who champion it to this day
