Horrifying visuals from the massive fire at Flourish Stay B&B in Malviya Nagar, Delhi, today. Nearly two dozen people killed, mostly foreigners. Authorities say the death toll could rise. The victims are mostly patients at nearby Max hospital.
The illegal structure had 24 rooms against the sanctioned 6. Moreover, none of the rooms had any form of ventilation.
Locals were the first responders.
The Saket building collapse is still quite fresh on our minds. And now this.
Karol Bagh. Mukherjee Nagar. Laxmi Nagar. Many such congested places in Delhi are nothing but ticking time-bombs.
Political parties and their supporters should stop living in denial about how people feel. The more you deny, the greater your loss.
Ifs, buts and whataboutery doesn't help.
A fitting tribute to two of India's finest cricketing stalwarts 🫡

What does it mean to be a #disabledperson in the workforce? Are organisations that work on #inclusion and #equity truly inclusive themselves?
As someone with a disability, I've been reflecting on whether professional spaces are inclusive by design.

Suspicious vehicle seen at the red light before blast/explosion at Red Fort.
Prime Minister @narendramodi has taken stock of the situation. Home Minister Amit Shah briefed him of the situation in Delhi.
Sources say even NSG has also arrived at the spot.
I’ve been a loyal @we_are_cult user (Home, Elite, Select) for over 5 years. Never subscribing again.
I am looking for disability-friendly gym because Cult is definitely not it.
I wrote to @we_are_cult with my medical records explaining how my disability prevents me from exercising on a daily basis and requested that my PT be extended for a month.
I wrote to them on 1st and received an automated reply. After following up,
I finally got a call on 18th.
The lady said that they would extend it but she would get back to me The same day. Today is the 25th, and I still have no update.
They have wasted one whole month of my subscription in this process. My subscription expires in the first week of November.
Extremely disappointed with @we_are_cult for scamming me out of one month’s membership.
When I signed up for Cult in Bangalore,
they told me that I could transfer it to Delhi. I also signed up for PT sessions, but was unable to finish it because of my illness.
@AamAadmiParty The first step to solving an issue is acknowledging that it exists. These are easily fixable problems that just require intent and prioritisation of those more marginalised.
Sorry Ms. @AtishiAAP but this is just not true. Unauthorised colonies, slums and resettlement colonies across Delhi continue to depend on water tankers extensively. In some cases, the main pipeline has been laid but not connected.

@AamAadmiParty Storage of water for durations as long as a week, especially in the open, then leads to a long list of health issues. Children are particularly affected by these, with recurring cases of diarrhoea being extremely common.
As a frequent wheelchair user at airports, this is not an uncommon experience. They treat you like luggage, as if you are disposable.
Completely unacceptable and abominable!
.@IndiGo6E is horrible! My senior citizen parents, flying from Mumbai to Kochi today by the 2:10pm flight, were made to wait over 1 hour for a wheelchair at MIAL and my father was conveniently told "we don't have sufficient wheelchairs". @JM_Scindia@MoCA_GoI This is unpardonable
Terrible experience at IGIA. Very poor wheelchair assistance. Highly disorganized. Overhaul of the management system URGENTLY required. Mr. Manish Sharma was sympathetic and tried to sort the issue for us today...But this is not the first time.
Here’s the thing, EVERY building, especially government buildings, needs to be accessible for people with disabilities and senior citizens. This is not just about the registrar, it’s about accessibility, awareness, and accommodation. WE DESERVE THE SAME RIGHTS AS EVERYONE ELSE!
