We posted a preprint last week! The swan song from my days in @DavidGDrubin's lab, and a collaboration with Mike Ostap's lab @PennMedicine. Simple question here: type I myosin activity is required for clathrin-mediated endocytosis, but what does it do? 1/6

@BenjiNaesen I’m in the US, so maybe this wasn’t the global experience, but I tried to switch to the women’s feed as soon as the men’s race finished, but the feed wasn’t even live for another ~40 min. I don’t understand what the excuse would be for that.
@casseroleboy I had similar thoughts about other sports that feel weird in the summer games. Evidently the Olympic charter dictates that all winter Olympic sports have to be carried out on snow or ice.
@BenjiNaesen I largely found Chris Froome boring but TDF Ventoux 2016 and stage 19 of the 2018 Giro loom very large in my memory. The poetry of Roglic losing on the final TT of the 2020 tour, then redeeming himself in the final TT of the 2023 Giro is also something I’ll always remember
@MayorBMScott@MarylandClassic I had such a fantastic time biking around the city, stopping in cafes and bars, and watching the excellent racing today. Also, Baltimore looked *majestic* in the video coverage, which I know for a fact had international reach. The race has to come back next year!
Excited to grow our team! The Tissue Morpho and Mechanics Lab at Hopkins is seeking a full-time Lab Technologist (50% lab tech + 20% lab manager + 30% scientist) to support our research in developmental biology and biomechanics 🐸🖖🔬🧪🫵
@casseroleboy I don’t know the history at all. For the first part of this video, I thought you just hated Brand New’s music and considered Jesse Lacy’s songwriting to be a crime. By the end, I gathered that there’s something more going on
@labonnelab@kyledcheney This is crazy! Do you know who is hosting and soliciting contributions to this spreadsheet? I’d like to forward it to a local reporter I’ve been talking to but I’d want to give her more context
Thanks to an ASCB COMPASS Outreach Grant, @genetiks4u helped empower 125 students at Central Hindu Girls School, #BHU with an incredible workshop!

@kkostova1@ScienceStowers I heckled your former student Diego a little bit today because he showed up without a costume, and he said: "the only one I have is the panda suit!" Being a Kostova lab member changes a student for life (or at least changes their costume collection)
@drugmonkeyblog @sciencejuls Fair enough. They should be happy with a quick response like "my research program is active and while I don't know about next year in particular, I do plan to continue taking students in general." If they want more than that, I agree they're being presumptuous.
