The State Department says it does not know how many trucks have entered Gaza over the past 30 days, despite demanding that Israel allow 350 trucks daily or face policy consequences. And in a notable shift, the spokesman characterized the demands in the letter as simply “suggestions for Israel to take.”
BBC’s @tombateman pressed further, reporting that the UN says only 37 trucks have entered each day—about one-tenth of what was requested: “Have the Israelis ended the isolation in the north?”
Patel: “They have taken steps to restore deliveries in the north in areas surrounding Jabalia..”
Bateman (interjecting): “You said surrounding Jabalia. But not in Jabalia… the besieged area where the UN says 100,000 people are trapped. There’s been no food, no water, there’s been daily and repeated denials of humanitarian convoys…”
Patel: “I will not go down a rabbit hole of a specific tit-for-tat on each item...”
Bateman: “As far as I can see from what you’ve said today, absolutely nothing that you’ve asked for is actually happening.”
Today’s announcement that former ICE Director Thomas Homan will serve as “Border Czar” should make it clear to everyone that the Trump Administration will make good on their promises of mass deportation.
We know *exactly* who Tom Homan is! 🧵

If you want to vote early and don’t want to stand in line you can come to Albany Park and vote at American Indian Center (Kimball & Ainslie) where there’s no line at all.
After spending most of my life in Puerto Rico fighting in so many struggles for justice I never thought this day would come. I’m in such awe of this campaign and the solidarity built across sectors to build this movement of hope. My 🤎& solidarity is with my people in Puerto Rico
@ImJustMe1979 😂 true. I saw an ad today where they talked about the destruction of the United States thru taking down borders and how men can hit women and they show Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. It’s disgusting.
Israel has killed more journalists in Gaza than any country has killed in any conflict in 30 years. And this man protects their ability to do so with impunity every day.
It’s a great time for people to watch @IsraelismFilm and do some reading on the history of Israel-Palestine. Link to watch below.

Anti-Semitic posts (rightfully) forced Rev. Mitchell Johnson to resign as school board president.
But why are Anti-Islamic posts by State Sen. Sarah Feigenholtz & Alderman Brendan Reilly who celebrated civilians being killed not receiving the same level of pressure to step down?
Bruce Leon, sitting 50th Ward Democratic Committeeperson and candidate for CPS School Board in the 2nd District, has a long history of political and financial ties to Republicans.
But don't take my word for it, take his checkbook's.

.@cairchicago, alongside interfaith and community leaders, held a press conference calling for the resignation of IL Senator Sara Feigenholtz due to her anti-Muslim, anti-Arab social media posts. These posts, which were shared during an active crisis, crossed major lines of decency and risk inciting hate and violence locally.
We emphasize that promoting hate speech from any public official undermines the safety and dignity of Muslim and Arab communities. It's crucial for leadership to be accountable and for rhetoric that fuels bigotry to be challenged. #Accountability #NoToHate
In addition to the Islamophobic tweet below, it turns out state Sen. Sara Feigenholtz had also shared a quote from Golda Meir suggesting Arabs don't love their kids and force Israel to kill them.
