Other elements that have the alexandrite effect are U(III)/(IV), Nd, and Ho. TM have the effect too. The namesake of the effect from the mineral alexandrite I believe is due to chromium.

@acid_angelic Absolutely. High radiation fields can degrade sensitive ligands before they even have time to crystallize. This is especially the case with our more radioactive isotopes like Cf-249 and Bk-249
