Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso Is a Great Nigerian, But Here's Why Kano Would Vote for President Tinubu in 2027

I appeal to everybody who supports President Bola Tinubu to treat Mallam Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso with courtesy, as he looks set to join another opposition party. You are not from a low political culture of insults, abuse, and boorish behaviour. We know those who behave like that. Do not descend to their level.

Mr Kwankwaso is a formidable politician who loves Nigeria, and for democracy to thrive, there must be opposition.

The thing is, we have about ten months to the next election. If supporters of President Tinubu can show, by their conduct, that they are well-brought-up, well-mannered, and display mutual respect, their attitude can go a long way toward making even opposition politicians warm to the President's re-election.

You don't have to be in the All Progressives Congress to support President Bola Tinubu. All you need to be is a patriot.

By displaying the highest level of gentlemanly conduct, there is every possibility that Alhaji Kwankwaso, and not only him, but many others, will see the wisdom in keeping Nigeria stable, by respecting the principle of rotation of power between the North and South, and also appreciating the many socioeconomic and political strides of the Tinubu administration, which have benefited all Nigerians, and specifically the people of Kano, who have seen their federal allocation more than double under President Tinubu.

It is prudent at this time to mention some of the specific projects of this administration, and those from past regimes that have been revived under Tinubu, and which favour Kano State, including:

The Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline being constructed for $2.89 billion or ₦4.5 trillion.

The Kano-Kaduna rail line for $1.2 billion or ₦2 trillion.

The Kano light rail project, for which the Tinubu administration has already allocated ₦150 billion.

The 465-kilometre Trans-Saharan Road being constructed at a price of an estimated $750 million or ₦1.2 trillion.

Approval of ₦334 billion for the Kano–Kongolom Road project in Kano State.

The ongoing massive reconstruction of the Kano–Maiduguri Road.

Approval and disbursement of ₦47 billion for the completion of the long-abandoned Jakara–Wuju–Wuju road and sewage project in Kano.

Introduction of the Kano-Lagos narrow rail express service for cargo and agricultural produce to boost exports.

These are just a few of the projects that the President has targeted in Kano to show his love and affection for the Kanawa people.

Of course, continuity at the federal and state levels in Kano will augur well for the continuation of the intense development strides underway in the state. This message can be adequately projected rather than any hostility towards a great Nigerian who has served this nation creditably in multiple roles.
