For the last 6 years we've been running a long term High P trial 150 kg/ha MAP. Showing no improvement over our standard replacement rates. Time to start "Mining P" to see when/if we start loosing Yield. #AgLeaderSMS
The power of AgLeader SMS software and a reliable Yield Monitor
@NickWilhelm3 The “plot master” getting after it today putting in a 13 hybrid plot including Preceon Smart Corn! Excited to see results this fall! @ChannelSeed@Channel_NE
I believe there is a lot of room for nuance and even different approaches when soil fertility is discussed. But, this is just not true. The MAP/DAP discussion is a problem on its own, but just consider the Bray P1 and Bray P2 topic. Do plant roots send out organic acids as exudates? Yes. But what kind of organic acids?
Organic acids like: Citric, Malic, Oxalic, Lactic, Succinic, Tartaric, and Fumaric Acids
What are the extractants for Bray P1 and Bray P2?
0.03 N Ammonium Fluoride and 0.025 N Hydrochloric Acid
0.03 N Ammonium Fluoride and 0.1 N Hydrochloric Acid
Neither of these tell us what is available to the plant. Compare these extractants to the organic acids listed. The extractants for Bray P1 and Bray P2 are much stronger than the organic acids that plants release as exudates. You are releasing more P with these than would naturally happen.
If you want to know what’s available to the plant, use organic acids as an extractant. Extraction methods and Phosphorus recommendations go hand in hand.
Artificial (Bray, Mehlich, Olsen) extractions lead to artificial Phosphorus recommendations.
Glyphosate has 30+ years of data that it doesn’t pose health risks.
DID YOU KNOW?
Glyphosate LD50 is 5,600 mg/kg
Caffeine LD50 is 200 mg/kg
Caffeine is 28 TIMES MORE TOXIC than glyphosate AND you actually ingest it at measurable levels.

Phantom yield loss is real.
I used to not believe it in my last combine, because I trusted that OEM yield monitor less than a post-taco bell wet fart.
For 10ish years now we've had 20/20 yield sense, and it's accurate. It's real.
213-19 gonna get it done again! Love the grain quality. Not gonna impress by kernel counts but mercy the grain is heavy, didn’t hardly dent this year for us.
218-55TRE is shaping up to be my new favorite! It took last weeks heat 🔥 like a champ! Excited to see this one come harvest! 🌽 #channelseed#pivotbio#bwfusion
