The last shot by Victor was wide open. He got a clean look. One could argue it was slightly contested, but regardless it was a clean look. And it was a good read by Fox.
It’s the previous two shots he took were ridiculously terrible.
Spurs essentially punted three possessions late and still had a chance to win — the Vic grenade from 3 where he received/ fumbled the ball in the post and dribble out to take a fade away three in the corner. Then his off-balance fade away contested 20 ft jumper against Robinson. Then his inexplicable turnover.
Four possessions when you count Ju’s foul on OG with 1 second left on clock.
Despite those 4 self inflicted negative possessions , Spurs were a one inch away from winning 106-105.
Mitch not calling a timeout is madness. Over and over again he believes in this team, but fact is we don’t have expierence (yet) to win it all without reset.
@KevinOConnor Putting the ball in Wemby’s hands not the problem, problem is Wemby taking a fade away jumper rather than backing his defender down or at least try to get closer, and pass off.
Alien or not, you don’t find yourself at the top until without the climb up! Enjoying every minute of this finals run. Hats off the the Knicks for training well over YEARS to stay undefeated in playoffs and best our spurs in our own home.
I would say it’s hard to believe the average age of this teams is 20 low something, but ya know, it’s not in the finals. Hats off Knicks, you have trained well
I don't mind getting beaten by a better team. nYk is just better. No shame in that. They're more experienced, well-balanced, well-coached, play extremely hard, limit mistakes, and beat you straight up. Sucks to lose, but I respect the hell out of how they've played us this year.
Just an absolute rip your heart out and explode it into a trillion pieces loss for the Spurs.
Needed to win it, could have won it, was sure they were going to as that last 30 seconds played out.
Instead they go to New York facing a 2-0 deficit which feels like certain death.
