Story that caught the eye: Bengaluru top cop suspended over stampede. B Dayananda is a first rate officer by all accounts. Has he been made a fall guy by the @siddaramaiah govt? It is reported that the Bengaluru police had opposed the grand celebrations taking place on a week day, wanted to have it on Sunday. RCB franchise pushed for it since many of their overseas star players were leaving the country; KSCA was happy to oblige; and the political leadership was way too excited to pause and think. Result? A tragedy that could have been easily averted with better planning. My Qs: does the buck stop with the top cop who was against holding the celebration at short notice or with the state govt that was keen to latch onto fan frenzy? CM @siddaramaiah , deputy CM @DKShivakumar home minister @DrParameshwara have much to answer. As do the franchise and KSCA. Dayananda, victim families and the people of Bengaluru deserve better.

Big breaking : SUPREME COURT GRANTS INTERIM BAIL TO Delhi CM and AAP leader ARVIND KEJRIWAL IN ED CASE. SUPREME COURT SAYS: Arvind Kejriwal has suffered incarceration for more than 90 days. He is an elected leader and it is upto him whether he wants to continue in the role or not. SC: Given right to life is concerned and since matter is referred to larger bench, WE DIRECT ARVIND KEJRIWAL TO BE RELEASED ON INTERIM BAIL. He will still be behind bars for now in CBI case but ED was main case and tough now for agencies to keep him in jail after SC ruling . The complete misuse of PMLA remains a huge blot. By now, the SC should have reviewed the original 2022 judgement which is bad in law, worse in practise . Apex court has sat on it for two years . At least judges like Justice Sanjive Khanna have shown some mettle👍
