La muerte de la princesa, además, coincide con el reciente fallecimiento —el pasado mes de octubre— de la Reina Madre. Debido a esta situación, el Rey ha tenido a bien ordenar que el Palacio Real gestione el funeral con todos los honores reales correspondientes. "Sin embargo, lo que será diferente es que esta será la primera vez que el cuerpo real se coloque en el Trono Pimana Ratcha, debido a que el Trono Dusit está ocupado por el cuerpo de Su Majestad la Reina Madre", ha informado la Corte de Tailandia.
🇹🇭 The Bureau of the Royal Household has announced the death of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the Princess Rajasarini Siribajra.
The late Princess died while under care at the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital this afternoon at the age of 47.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha was the eldest child of King Maha Vajiralongkorn (Rama X) & first granddaughter of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) & Queen Sirikit.
The late Princess was born in 1978 & studied at Cornell University becoming a Doctor of Juridical Science with a Masters from the Cornell Law School.
Princess Bajrakitiyabha served as the Thai Ambassador to Austria as well as UNODC Goodwill Ambassador & UN Women National Ambassador. Her Royal Highness held a passionate for women’s rights in the criminal justice system which saw her assist in the creation of the 2010 UN Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners (The Bangkok Rules).
The late Princess was a General in the Thai Royal Army & Chief of Staff of The King’s Close Bodyguard Command. She never married nor had any children.

« Since May 21, 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha (…) had been suffering from a deteriorating condition due to an abdominal infection caused by inflammation of the colon, low blood pressure, arrhythmia, and blood clotting disorders. Despite the close and diligent care provided by the medical team, her condition progressively worsened until Thursday, 11 June, 2026, at 7:48 PM, when she passed away peacefully at Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, at the age of 47.
His Majesty the King has issued a Royal Decree instructing the Royal Household to arrange the funeral with the highest honors according to royal tradition, and to place the body at the Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall in the Grand Palace. »

While we are all waiting for the ceremony, she is still in mom mode. Always.
She has been seen making sure that her little Josephine is well warm and doesn’t get cold ❤️
And it doesn’t matter if it’s in an official event, a state visit or a military ceremony. Mary never stops being aware of her children. It is those small gestures, almost imperceptible, that show that the queen is also a tremendously attentive and loving mother.
The Queen may be present today, but mom Mary is also there, making sure her little Phine is comfortable and warm 🥹🤍
