Today, I was proud to name Sean Lozano, a South Florida police officer, as my running mate and Floridaโs next Lieutenant Governor.
Sean most recently served with the Lauderhill Police Department, where he worked violent crime and narcotics cases and was named Officer of the Quarter in 2025 for taking dangerous offenders off the street.
I asked Sean to join our ticket because I need a trained law enforcement officer by my side to continue Governor DeSantisโ law-and-order legacy.
Floridaโs 50-year crime low was not an accident. It happened because Governor DeSantis backed the blue, funded law enforcement, and stood with them. We will keep building on that record and back Floridaโs 50,000 law enforcement officers and 30,000 corrections officers.
As Governor, I will ensure we protect the gains Florida has made on public safety and continue supporting the men and women who keep us safe.
On day one, Sean will help lead efforts to secure a COLA for state workers in FRS, coordinate with state and local law enforcement to remove illegal homeless encampments and stop teen takeovers, and stand up a statewide violent crime task force.
Last night, the head of CBS Jacksonville called me. He informed me that the July 15 debate is officially canceled because, in his words, โJay Collins refused to commit.โ
Why would Jay Collins, a candidate polling in the single digits, refuse a full hour of free television? Hundreds of thousands of viewers. Free exposure. Every candidateโs dream.
Why would he turn that down?
Because @JayCollinsFL already got what he wanted.
He made a deal with @ByronDonalds and was promised the Lt. Governor position if he stayed in the race as a plant.
They know that Byron easily loses in a head-to-head with me, but Byron's odds go up if a third candidate like Jay can steal votes and help Byron win.
They are rigging the election, but it won't work.
We have 3x as many in-person events than Byron between now and Election Day.
Next week, I'll be the first candidate in Florida history to campaign in all 67 counties.
And our ground game is unmatched.
Despite their silly attempts to rig this election against us, we will win on August 18th, and it won't even be close.
TOO BIG TO RIG.
@JayCollinsFL You literally refused to attend the July 15th debate UNLESS Byron would be there. Youโre a weakling with no potential for leadership. Drop out.
