![r48_eth's tweet photo. $VCM thesis: First utility coin on the Bonk ecosystem (potentially undervalued).
Today’s a short research note on the emerging project @TradeVala — and why I believe it has real growth potential. My core points:
— [first?] Utility coin on Bonk Eco
— Team includes ex-TikTok, YouTube, Coinbase, Gemini, Amazon
— Clean token flywheel (revenue sharing + buybacks)
— Low valuation ($2M FDV)
— clear catalyst (open an access to everyone)
As always: Thoughts expressed below should not be considered as financial advice or investment recommendations.
1. Overview
Vala is a social app similar to TikTok/Instagram, but with built-in trading and direct tipping features for content creators.
From a broader perspective, current social networks lack a clear, native donation system. In the Web3 space, you either build a tipping layer on top of something like Farcaster — as Noice did — or build your own app from scratch.
That’s exactly what the team at @TradeVala did. They built the app from the ground up, allowing users to:
— Trade directly in-app (buy/sell any asset)
— Tip content creators in any supported token
— Invite your friend to get some fees and airdrops for using app
— Enjoy the content (great UI/UX)
Web3 culture is leaning further toward speculation — and as long as there’s liquid capital on the market, that’s not going away. Memes are part of CT (Crypto Twitter), and now imagine if every funny or engaging piece of content could be monetized.
To me, the idea here is extremely simple — but also risky. That’s why I manage the position accordingly.
2. Token Flywheel / Tokenomics
The main revenue for $VCM comes from trading activity (on the token or platform — still unclear), with 50% of those fees distributed as follows:
— 60% burned
— 35% revenue share (users earn tokens)
— 5% to Vala development (the team)
As outlined in this tweet: https://t.co/mGkUDGdlZ1
Obviously, I can’t estimate future buybacks right now — there’s just not enough data available — but we should keep in mind the app is currently invite-only.
Since there are no buy/sell fees for the token itself, I assume fees come from:
— Creator tipping
— Platform trading
Honestly, this is a unique value-generation model for a token, and I’m genuinely impressed by the logic behind it. As supporting context, take a look at their Q1 results (https://t.co/3oogjRbxrb) and Q2 forecasts:
> 1,000+ daily users
> 25,000+ monthly views
> 2,000+ daily engagements
> 150+ daily transactions
Did the team actually hit these numbers? I’m judging subjectively here, but based on average video views and interactions, I’d say the first two metrics were likely achieved. The others — I’m not so sure.
From what I’ve seen on X, both the project and its founder have solid followings:
With the official launch, I’m confident the team will get support from both Bonk Eco and the broader Solana community. The app looks great and feels unique.
3. Final Thoughts
I won’t stretch this post too much — that wasn’t the plan. Here’s a quick summary of my key points and upcoming catalysts:
— @x0RADA shares valuable insights, saying he’s spent over $1M on the platform and hired devs from Gemini, Coinbase, Amazon, TikTok, Solana Foundation, YouTube. Also, Vala is the only App Store-approved tipping app (https://t.co/RyJOgIIVUz)
— @supercontraa shares his impressions — which I agree with (https://t.co/fMhfCBft5Y)
— @0xdetweiler hints at a potential new narrative (https://t.co/YNg8bsKVTT)
— @ChapoGrimey drops even more alpha — worth a read (https://t.co/189uziWN1G)
— @iamwinston did an intro-level breakdown of $VCM (https://t.co/s2LqdvbAFY)
— @0xBiZzy casually shills $VCM and praises the token (https://t.co/YTuumqYOZX), (https://t.co/ZXNJTrAcMR)
— @x0RADA explains how $VCM works in simple terms (https://t.co/fh0l35J5GF)
One more thing I’d like to highlight — Vala is deeply integrated within the Solana ecosystem thanks to multiple partnerships with:
Moonpay (https://t.co/uIBUSoXiNv),
MagicEden (https://t.co/2r85AE17Ah),
StoryProtocol, Metaplex, Aptos, Shelby (https://t.co/2juYhY1gRW)
As for catalysts, I see a few potential ones:
— Open access to the app (TBA)
— Broad adoption within Bonk Eco (depends on whether $VCM gains attention)
— Token incentives and a new airdrop season
I’m more confident in the first catalyst. Judging by how ready the app seems, I expect the announcement soon. At the current $2M FDV, I don’t think the valuation reflects the actual potential based on the points I’ve laid out above.
To me, this is clear undervaluation caused by a fragmented market. Also worth noting: the growing dominance of letsBonk over PumpFun only strengthens my thesis — since $VCM comes from the Bonk ecosystem, it has a shot at being recognized by a broader circle of influencers backing this launchpad.
Time will tell if I’m right. But with the market in such great shape, no new runners, and few major listings — $VCM sits in an interesting spot and could attract wide liquidity.
That said — this is high risk, and there’s a good chance I’m wrong. Adjust your risk profile based on the market cap, and you’ll be fine.
Build your own conviction.
