@SpeakOutSister has highlighted the “Labour Women’s Declaration”, a conference event advocating to change the law to restrict trans peoples access to public services, as well as arguing that implementing the Cass Review will “interact” with a conversion therapy bill. (1/10)
@G33kOfAllTrades@drmistercody What do you think about if they drew a hard line between Biden and Harris and emphasised that policies would improve everyday costs with some popular left wing policies?
@StandsForKayvee@JayExci@_SecondThought Plus voting doesn't stop you derailing the trolley. You can do both. It's not like the political parties will give up if you reach a particularly low percentage of voter turnout.
@Tom_Nicholas I'm sure they will learn from their mistakes. Hasn't Jonathan Ashworth been given quite a good position in the organisation to support their reellection strategy? I've heard he's worked with some high profile campaigns, he'll steer them right.
The Labour Party just got a 4.5 year warning of what awaits them if they can’t make enough of an impact on people’s lives to build a genuinely enthusiastic coalition of support.
For as long as there have been nonconsensual and unnecessary intersex surgeries, there have been arguments that altering the intersex traits of infants and children would provide some psychological benefit. However, new data from @TrevorProject suggests exactly the opposite.
@SEENpoliceUK An excerpt:
"Trans people should be accommodated according to their presentation: the
way they dress, and the name and pronouns they use.
• This may not always accord with the physical appearance of the chest
or genitalia.
• It does not depend on their having a GRC"
@SEENpoliceUK That's frustrating, I'm struggling to find a proper link. I will look later but in the meantime you can search for NHS delivering single sex accommodation 2019 and it will hopefully show up.
@SEENpoliceUK Most trust's policies will be based on the NHS guidance on same sex accommodation from 2019, which is trans inclusive. While this is the most recent guidance, Trusts wanting to have discriminatory policies against trans people won't have much support from the wider NHS.
@Kat_Says_Stuff Yes, he got a lovely photo with them to show the "conversation" they are having. Not sure what was discussed at the meeting or which organisations attended. Steph's place was one I believe.
Do you require certain chromosomes? Hormone levels? Body parts? Gender presentation? Does the organisation monitor this and record it? Who checks, and how do they check?
If Badenoch couldn't find a way, Streeting doesn't have a chance.
Wes Streeting will be as successful at banning trans people from facilities as the conservatives were. Conservatives failed not because of a lack of desire or even difficulties with the EHRC, but rather it is not logically possible to do. There is no clear way to easily do it.
