@sloppyjoelunch@RoseAJacob@EmmaVigeland This isn't a good analogy at all. Palestinians subject to Israeli courts. If they want to build an addition on a generational home that belonged to their grandparents, they need a permit from Israel. They are subject to the Israeli just system and the military courts.
@sloppyjoelunch@EmmaVigeland Israelis in PA zones are not subject to the PA justice system. If they commit a crime on PA land, they will not be held in a Palestinian jail or tried in a Palestinian court. They are subject to Israeli civilian courts and Palestinians are subject it Israeli military courts.
@rocasshole123@rachbarnhart Once every year or so, I am in the area and decide to give them another chance. Then the order is wrong and I don't go back for another year or two. In ten years I have been maybe 6 times.
@sloppyjoelunch@EmmaVigeland You're telling me a Palestinian can go get Israeli citizenship, start driving on all the good roads, go get their house back, and have equal access to the same criminal justice system as Israelis?
@sloppyjoelunch@EmmaVigeland Remember you're talking to an American. Americans had a whole war about this. When a country is militarily occupying you, putting their soldiers around you, and controlling you; you should have representation in that government. Seems reasonable, no?
Israeli "democracy":
- 500,000 West Bank settlers can vote, but not the 3M Palestinians under occupation
- 230,000 Israelis in occupied East Jerusalem can vote, but not the 350,000 Palestinians under their rule
- The fewer than 2M Palestinians left in occupied Gaza cannot vote
@BBQRick184110@rachbarnhart First of all, I went at most once in a year. I have been there maybe 6 times in 10 years. Second, no one goes to taco bell when they are thinking rationally. It's a last resort type of food choice π . Sometimes restaurants turn their act around, the BK on Monroe used to be bad.
