I just want to see the hard numbers.
It’s clear Black men, more than any other group of men, showed up and did our part. And I think it’s important to get the record straight.
People say a lot about Black men online, but I haven’t seen much discussion breaking down how Black men voted by age.
One thing MOST Black men do well is recognize a threat. The numbers show that, even when we don’t agree with every policy the Dems put forward, we know which side poses a threat to everything we’ve fought for in this country—and we voted accordingly.
It’s crucial to highlight the high numbers, because when we focus too much on the lower numbers, we’re feeding a narrative that divides us.
Black people, remember: we’re most powerful when we refuse to let others—or ourselves—divide us.
Did you guys also note a long road ahead to rebuild trust with the State of Mississippi after the $94m TANF scandal? Did you guys note a long road ahead to rebuild trust for the Rankin County Sheriff department after the Goon Squad convictions and current DOJ investigations? FOH
It is clear political pundits will go out of their way to rationalize the fact that the majority of Americans don’t have a problem with the fact that Donald Trump tried to overthrow the government . The majority of Americans did not have a problem with his racist remarks. The majority of Americans accept his xenophobia. The Democrats don’t have to move to the center. They are already there. Tax cuts for the middle class, housing subsidies, jobs, infrastructure, manufacturing. The only thing radical was GOP propaganda. This election wasn’t about the price of milk.
Democracy is clarity. As a student of human behavior, I believe it reflects the will of the people. The race is not over but the blame game has begun. I will not let the pundits scapegoat Black voters. I will not let you scapegoat Arab American voters. Not even the shift of Latino voters. Donald Trump was supported by White men, White women, non college educated and college educated. Suburban White women and rural White women by a majority. It’s clear that my neighbors, coworkers, and friends have no problem with a convicted felon, convicted rapist, racist, and misogynist leading their government. They share his values. People show you who they are.
Last day of early voting in Ohio and the line at the Franklin County Board of Elections is insane - it’s backed around itself multiple times. I have been covering early voting since Ohio started it in 2005 and I’ve never seen anything close to this
Elon Musk paid Black people to campaign for Trump in Michigan and then fired them and left them stranded in the streets when they complained about unsafe working conditions for being shipped around in the back of a U-Haul without seats or seatbelts.
