Sometimes, you don’t hate the bias of the editors at the New York Times enough.
The reporters rightly relegated this guilt-by-association cleric stuff to the 9th paragraph of their piece but the editor made sure it in was the dek of the piece itself on this historic night - above any mention of him treating 9/11 victims, saving Tammy Duckworth’s life, or volunteering to save lives in Gaza.
The pride flag was designed in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, at the behest of gay activist and city official Harvey Milk, who thought that the Gay Pride movement needed a logo.
The original-purpose flag was constructed by Baker with hand-dyed fabric and consisted of eight stripes.
Speaking of tailoring, I wrote about some things you might not realize a tailor (or you, if you can sew!) can do to change your garments. But, first, why alterations are sometimes more difficult than making a garment from scratch:

Another reason for why good public transportation is necessary is because old people need to be able to get around safely, without being in danger and without endangering other people
Discrimination based on gender identity or expression is illegal in New York City.
Trans New Yorkers are protected by law. Our City will protect your rights, defend your humanity and stand beside you without hesitation. https://t.co/Ptoy3nAKz4
It would take far more than a month to honor the contributions of queer and transgender New Yorkers.
From the Cercle Hermaphroditos in 1895, the first trans advocacy group in the United States, to the drag balls of the Harlem Renaissance, to the Stonewall uprising, to the Lesbian Herstory Archives, to ACT UP!, founded in 1987 as queer people fought for their lives while the Reagan administration looked away, New York City's history has long been shaped by queer and trans New Yorkers.
To all our queer and trans neighbors: you deserve a City where you can afford to live safely, openly, and joyfully.
Happy Pride, New York City.
@tarmac_xx@BiologyAwesome Not really, unless you’re younger than 12 or older than 45 then you may have to request it from your doctor. Otherwise you should be able to just book super easily with ur insurance thru any pharmacy vaccination appointment!
Mamdani: "Government efficiency — these are words that somehow have been understood as if they are Republican priorities, when in fact they're the priorities of anyone who believes in the public sector. Any yet, Elon Musk took that language and used it to cut as many jobs that were as critical as possible for so many of the neediest people across the country and across the world. Ours is going to be a focus on actually delivering efficiency. Not as a byword for cutting services, but actually a sincere commitment to efficiency. And we firmly believe not only in closing the last chapter of city government, but in starting the new one. The proposals that COGE will be looking at will be ones that we view as critical to unlocking the full potential of city government.”
Years ago wrote an article called “the old gay man at the club” that discussed the disconnect, and often times disrespect our generation has of elder gays, & the ageism in what we deem our spaces and lanes.
One could never imagine burying their friends and lovers every week for years. They did that. They are why WE are here.
Their years to be free, and sexual, and party were met with a grief and survival, while still pulling us forward.
Let people live yall.
Now here’s something to whistle about!
We’re thrilled to see our aggressive recruitment campaign, higher pay, & more training opportunities pay off.
More lifeguards means more free swim programs, more kids learning to swim, & more people having a safe, fun, summer! 🏊
It’s exhausting how every aspect of life in this country boils down to a company trying to screw you over as a consumer and you having to waste time fighting over it.
When companies like @TMobile do this, I should be able to bill them for the time it takes me to correct it.
